Anyone else find this sad!
Minnesota, a Big Ten team, is playing on the road this week at a MAC school.
I don't care if the Golden Gophers play more like the yellow ground moles, they are still a Big Ten school.

I guess it's even beneath osu to play a Big East school on the road.Didn't they turn UC down? Then worked a deal with them to play it in Columbus? Back to your point, sometimes you need to help the little guys out by giving them a payday by playing them at thier place. So, good for Minnesota!

Minnesota came to OU a few years back, so it's not really a new concept.

Those teams get a bigger payday by playing in the 70-110,000 seat stadiums. Why play a game in a 20,000 seat stadium when 100,000+ are willing to shovel out 60+ per ticket?

Not anywhere near the same, ECU is using the Panthers stadium in Charlotte for the game, and OSU will be playing Akron in the Browns Stadium.
Minnesota is coming down to MAC country and playing in a 18-25,000 seat environment.
OSU travels 18-25,000 to each and every road game. If they were to play in a MAC stadium or at UCs stadium they would demand more tickets than the stadium holds.

Hey, I'm an OSU fan too but I find it sad OSU is playing Troy State and Youngstown State both D-AA. I'd rather them play a MAC on the road.

Troy is 1A, they play in the Sun-Belt.... they play three BCS conference teams this year so OSU isn't the only one playing Troy this year
Re: Anyone else find this sad!
Yeah, and one of those teams is all-powerful LSU.
They also play three SEC teams last year and put up at least 26 points on every one of them.

I think that it is good for bigger school to go to a smaller school and help them fill the seats

Marshall has both Miami (FL) and Virginia Tech in Huntington in 2011.

if the bigger school has a good enough program they wont have any problem filling the seats, like OSU this weekend. and like i said before, both teams benefit from playing at the Shoe rather than Peden. why profit off of 20,000 tickets when you can get the profit of 100,000+ tickets

i thought a stipulation for playing in DI was that your stadium had to seat a minimum of something like 35,000 or so.
