Vinton County @ Logan (2/10)
Rematch for the Vikings and Chieftains on Saturday night. Logan won the first matchup 76-39, but, this is a different VC team than Logan played the first time around.
Thoughts?

This is a Vinton County @ Logan Thread not a Vinton County VS NY thread .
Re: Vinton County @ Logan (2/10)
Logan will get less than the first game and VC more.
GO LOGAN..The anti-Christ is among us
Re: Vinton County @ Logan (2/10)
Logan is the obvious favorite , at Jim's Gym ... the Purple & White have played a gauntlet of games vs quality Big schools out of the OCC & 3 top 10 teams out of Wild Wonderful West Virginia winning 5 of 7 games ... VC has all of the pieces back and on the floor ... VC will need to show up defensively vs LHS while getting solid play on the inside, getting out on the perimeter shooters for the Chiefs ... the potential is there for this one to end up like the first meeting between these 2 teams BUT ( and there is always a but) as we saw on Tuesday night Gallia Academy after being blown out in the first meeting with my #1 Fairland ( 47 point spread) played the Dragons better than anyone all season in Ohio - forcing FHS's Luke Thomas to have to make 2 treys in the last minute to beat the Blue Devils 60-59 ... the 2nd time around ... VC has a lot to prove to itself going into the post season ...

As much as I would love for this to happen and I will be there to watch this game I think if Vinton County wants to have a chance they have to play their best game of the year and not get down big after the first, naylan needs to get hot early his struggles showed against Chillicothe when he missed 2 layups to start the game!

No way does VC hang with Logan. Don't care who is on the court. Logan is the real deal.

We were happy to have you there. Bring your wallet and make sure it's a little fatter next time. Logan really wanted this game and they "paid" the price for victory.VCtransvestite wrote: ↑Fri Feb 09, 2018 6:53 am I haven't been to a game in years. Good to see viking nation in action

Logan can't be complacent - the Viking program has too much pride. And they're finally healthy.
Really fun run to close the season for the Chiefs with historic matchups in VC, NY, and Warren and then Perry coming all the way down. Excited for the kids to get to close out the season with 4 home games (and hopefully 5 or 6 once we see the tournament draw).

It will be a closer game than before---I believe its all depends on the focus of the Vikings---have to play hard and play better defense.
Re: Vinton County @ Logan (2/10)
I think this will be closer than before, and it will probably come down to the 4th quarter and who makes the better plays in that situation. If it's the same VC defense we saw against Zane Trace that sat down, manned up, and actually tried to and did force stops, then this could swing their way. This is a much different game than the last meetup between the two with both Yates' being able to play this time around. I'm excited for it and ready to watch a good game. Great matchup between two really good teams!

The big question- will Speakman be a Go??? After last nights hip injury which sidelined him most of the game last night against NY.
Re: Vinton County @ Logan (2/10)
Talked to his mom at the game last night and she said the trainer doesn’t want him to play but said it was his decision, it’s a bruise she thinks maybe a muscle bruise but don’t think it’s on the bone if I was combs I would sit speakman and get him healthy for wellston next Friday and tournament timeVisionQuest wrote: ↑Sat Feb 10, 2018 8:30 am The big question- will Speakman be a Go??? I don’t think spearman is playing tonight. If it’s something he can play through, I’d say he will. However with the tournament coming soon & the game to win the league outright, I would make sure he’s 100% going into the next couple weeks.

In all honesty, I'm with Bigman83. Logan might be a big game but its not a league game and with the playoff looming...... I'd rest him.
