OSU vs. USC
Re: OSU vs. USC
So when is Ohio State going to win a BIG game for once? I think Ohio State fans seen the best team ever out of Ohio State back in 01-02. I've always said that the Big 10 is overrated and they continue to prove me right. Don't even get me started on Michigan. Rich might get fired after his first year Big Ten is just WHACK. End of story. I think scheduling USC was a great move for Ohio State though because now they don't have to waste their time going to the national championship. If Ohio State would not have scheduled USC, then they probably would have went to the championship and played them anyway. So it is definitely good that they saved the embarrassment until now instead of at the end of the year.

Re: OSU vs. USC
You sudden Tressel haters crack me up. You've apparently gotten used to the excellence he's brought to the university, or else it wouldn't bother you so bad. Look back at the Cooper era, when we lost not only to Michigan nearly every year, but then followed it up with bowl losses against inferior teams.
Take a nap, and post after your hangover wears off. Then look at what Tressel has given you as a fan, and what he has stock piled in recruiting for the next several seasons.
If you want to throw away the season, and assure a place in the alamo bowl, then go ahead and pray for Pryor to get the start. He's not ready to win in the Big Ten. He will be, but he is not now. If the Alamo Bowl is good enough for you, then that's fine. I'd much rather be in the running for a shot at a national title (assuming each team loses twice, OSU won't get it if there are other 1 loss teams), or a shot at the Rose Bowl. In order for that to happen, you need better O-Line play, and better defensive pressure and effort.
Bob Stoops has lost 4 straight BCS bowls, and you don't see fans calling for his head.

tressel is to conservative in big games he doesnt take shots and pryor should have started this game even if he is a freshman he went to ohio state because they play in big games if ohio state goes to a bcs bowl and they lose tressel needs to be fired he is 0-3 against the top tier teams florida, lsu, usc and thats because the big ten is overrated and so is ohio state and yea pryor did show something he showed even a freshman can play in a hostile crowd like usc he did better than todd did i would rather have 7/9 than 14/21 and two interceptions especially one take back for a touchdown
you just hit the nail on the head.
i just might be done watching OSU for the rest of this season, if Tress get's his head out of you know where and plays Pryor i might consider watching again. but as long as Boeckman continues to get this kind of playing time, i'm done, i hate Todd Boeckman as the QB. whenever Pryor was in something good happened, he looked good tonight and i hate that he didnt get more time and a better chance to keep us in the game.
i also have been questioning my faith in the sweater-vest. yes, he beats michigan but who has michigan been these past few years? they got routed in the rose bowl and beat an overrated florida team, congratulations Tress, you beat UM but you still got blew out every time it mattered most. my friends and i were joking around during the game that we think Tress is just getting tired of Columbus and is just trying to loose his job because he certainly doesnt look like a National Championship winning coach. if i didnt know better and you told me that man had multiple national championship rings, i'd laugh in your face. If OSU has a decent opponent in a bowl game and they lose, i'd love nothing more than OSU telling Tress to pack his bags, he's about this close to wearing out his welcome IMO.
i'm not trying to say the rest of the team looked great. the defense was very lackluster, forcing only one turnover and multiple blown coverages but that offense is just pathetic, especially with Boeckman taking the snaps.
good luck to the buckeyes for the rest of the season but i think i'm done with this one.
An Ohio State fan calling another team overrated? You might want to rewind the OSU USC game and listen to what the USC fans were chanting in the 2nd Qtr. when it was 28-3. I especially wouldn't call Florida overrated either like you mentioned. I agree with the fact that Michigan hasn't proven in the past few years anything special other than they beat Florida. He might want to find another style in big games and leave the sweater vests for home games or for teams like Purdue or Michigan whatever the case may be. Just don't wear it if your playing anyone within the Top Ten.

i totally agree with fsu and whodey....that schedule is pitiful even with usc...cmon now troy, ohio, youngstown state, yea those schools get money for playing them and its all good and dandy but what is it doing for the team in getting prepared for a run at a national championship or being ready for a team like usc...nothing and this kind of reminds me of the situation with zwick and smith except for this is todd's second year starting...smith had to basically say on tv that he deserves a chance to start and show what he can do because i guarantee that is what pryor is thinking he can start and do better after what happend tonight

Re: OSU vs. USC
then again bob stoops hasnt lost TWO straight national championship games and he isnt conservative in almost every game he coaches he actually takes chances down the field because he has a legitamate quarterback that wont turn the ball over....and no im an ohio state fan and im sure im not the only one that thanks tressel should be fired and yea winning 11 or 12 games a year is great but if you cant win the big game what does that show for

Not counting USC and OSU, these are 6 sample schedule of non-conference opponents by teams all in the top ten.
Georgia Southern, Central Michigan, Arizona St.
Chattanooga, Cincinnati, Washington
Appalachian St, Troy, North Texas, Tulane
Louisiana Monroe, Southern Miss, Tennessee-Martin
Florida Atlantic, Utep, Rice
SE Missouri St, Nevada, Buffalo
Now tell me again, what is wrong with OSU scheduling USC, Troy, OU, and YSU

Say that out loud, two straight National Title games.
What, 2 straight National Title games?
Maybe you didn't hear yourself, 2 STRAIGHT NATIONAL TITLE GAMES!
Bob Stoops has lost to non-BCS conference teams in 2 of his losses, and hasn't be in what was that again...
...2 STRAIGHT NATIONAL TITLE GAMES.

Used to the excellence? what excellence? we lose to any good team we play. the big ten has fallen off in the past few years so losing 1 or 2 games in the conference is no big task anymore for top teir teams like OSU and UM. i know pryor hasnt proven anything but give him a chance to prove himself because boeckman has only proven only one thing, he sucks. he's slower than molasses and cant get rid of the ball in time to save his life, that would be a very bad combination.

did you not read the rest of the post? it was basically an extended version of "OSU is overrated." if there's one thing i'm not, it's a hypocrite.

Still love the Buckeyes.......so what they lost. Finish off this season with only 1 loss and play in Pasadena on 1 January for the Rose Bowl. Not to mention getting beat by the #1 team isn't like getting "upset."
Re: OSU vs. USC
Hey Steely Dan!I am not going to stop loving the Buckeyes because of one loss!I am a hardcore fan and I will remain that way!I was proud of the guys that were on the field at the end even though we were getting blown out!So I am not quite abadoning the season quite yet!True Buckeye fans dont abandon the ship after 1 loss.

OSU will still win the Big Ten and make it to the Rose Bowl. This loss will keep me from having to stay awake to watch OSU lose in the National Title game. No biggie, they will still finish in the Top 5 in the final polls.

I got your back BWH........I am making plane reservations for Los Angeles today and also hotel reservations for Pasadena on Jan 1st.
Sure hope they have a Buffalo Wild Wings along the Rose Bowl parade route so I can feel right at home.....and watch the parade at the same time.....

Re: OSU vs. USC
That offensive line is going to get people killed. Bad showing by them last year against LSU. Even worse showing this year against USC. TO BIG AN SLOW AND IT SHOWED.
How come everytime our backs broke thru the line they managed to run into their own blockers.
i feel sorry for the guys who stayed so they could play in th title game, cause it won't happen now. Bet, next time whomever it will be jumps to the NFL.

Re: OSU vs. USC
I will first admit that last night while watching the game I was calling for Tres' head. But, now after the anger has worn off, I'm a little more level headed. What I'm taking away from the game is this. We can run the ball even if Beanie isn't playing I saw some bright spots, but I don't understand why Tres went away from it to be honest.(Reminded me of the LSU game). Another thing is that Boeckman is the poor man's Krenzel. At least Krenzel was smart with the ball and won the big games. The O-Line is Terrible and I mean TERRIBLE. If that problem isn't fixed then the Offense will have problems for the rest of the season. Also, to go along with that the D-Line didn't play that great either, you have to get pressure on the qb and that was not there. Two more things that can be taken away from this game is that Pryor needs to be used, I would say 50% of each game for the rest of the year. He proved that he's growing and maturing fast. And finally, although OSU lost the rest of the year remains. So, let's have a cheer for winning out and getting to a BCS game!
