Tressel: RB Wells now doubtful for USC game

Ohio State coach Jim Tressel said Thursday it is doubtful that starting tailback Chris "Beanie" Wells will play Saturday night against No. 1 Southern California.

Wells doesn't play defense, and if we lose this game it will be because the defense doesn't play as expected.

I work for an OSU clothing and "stuff" store, I live in Columbus, I listen to 1460thefan all the time.

Plenty of people are crying, 65-70% of the people I've talked to this week, are not optimistic on this game. Keep in mind, basically the only people I talk to are "die hard" Buckeye fans.

I'm sick and frikin' tired of hearing all the sob stories from the Buckeye "faithful".

I agree whole heartedly. What's the old addage? Defense wins Championships. If USC doesn't score they can't win. I'm pretty sure that Boeckman, Mo Wells and the Brians can get points on the board. This isn't gonna be a blow out by either team. This is gonna be a defensive battle with a little special teams thrown in. I would love to see #28 in there on Saturday but if he's not then Mo Wells, Saine, Herron and Pryor will have to step up and play and show the nation that Ohio State can and will win without Beanie.
