2018 TVC-Ohio Football
Re: 2018 TVC Ohio
Vinton County’s weakness this year will be the same as last year at the corner and safety positions also losing senior receivers one of them being Nichols who set a school record in both receptions and yards Yates being out will hurt, the running back from last year will be a junior and his brother will be a freshman who plays quarterback, some say he has a better arm than naylan but lacks in some other areas, quarterback situation will be rough this year will it be backup to naylan Lincoln Hayes, jv quarterback from last year of the freshman coming in we do have a receiver coming up from jv who is 6’5”
You can’t spell TVC without VC

I wonder if Martins Ferry & NY would be interested in playing week 2, assuming that MF is still open.

I was told they lost 8 starters to graduation.OSU22 wrote: Wed Mar 07, 2018 12:24 pmThe Bucks return a few starters but what does MF return?Orange and Brown wrote: Wed Mar 07, 2018 10:25 amFunny you should mention that...formerfcfan wrote: Thu Feb 22, 2018 8:55 pm I wonder if Martins Ferry & NY would be interested in playing week 2, assuming that MF is still open.

Martin's Ferry is a good pickup for NY. The Purple Riders have an historical program and a nice football stadium from what I have heard. MF's main rival is Bellaire, which NY played in the 1997 D IV Regional Championship Game.
Re: 2018 TVC Ohio
That is an outstanding schedule addition for both Nelsonville York and Martins Ferry. It’s great to see quality match ups out of conference like this early in the season. Congratulations to both schools for stepping up. Games like this come back to help teams in tough games late in the season.

vinton county will be last place this year. yates is the only reason they were ok for the past 4 years.

I agree, Ferry is a good pickup for NY. The next step for them is playing teams from other parts of the state. It’s hard to be fully prepared to compete at the state level if you stay in your own sandbox all the time.
I was at that ‘97 game and it was a beat down to say the least. Knowing that Bellaire threw the ball all over the place back then, it probably would have been much worse if the weather and field conditions weren’t horrendous.

Re: 2018 TVC Ohio
You have to consider travel times when scheduling. We scheduled Liberty center and the travel time was awful. You also have to consider that a lot of teams from outside the area don't want to travel to Athens county when they can find a game within 20-30 minutes of them.Edmond Dantes wrote: Sat Mar 10, 2018 1:04 pmI agree, Ferry is a good pickup for NY. Sleeper Players in the TVC
Anyone have any insight to any sleeper football players in the TVC who should make big impacts in 2018-19?

Any guesses on the line backing replacements, DB and ends? Big loss for them with Dickelman, Albin, Haseley and Tritipo.Raider6309 wrote: Wed Feb 07, 2018 2:37 pm Athens will be interesting at QB. Bring back a 2,000 yard passer but have a sophomore QB that looked unfair playing JV as a freshman last year. Should be a good QB battle in the summer. Athens strengths will be the D line and offensive line. We have to replace both linebackers on defense
Re: Sleeper Players in the TVC
I look for Rylan Molihan to be a major offensive weapon for Wellston.

Jayden and Evan Spires will push us over the top this fall. We will beat athens for the tvc championship and jackson better watch out too. VC kids coming to Wellston. I love it!

Oh, the Spires kids are transferring to Wellston? I have heard Athens and Meigs were in the mix for them. Interesting.WellstonLover wrote: Thu Apr 05, 2018 11:49 am Jayden and Evan Spires will push us over the top this fall. We will beat athens for the tvc championship and jackson better watch out too. Re: Sleeper Players in the TVC
Very likely Jackson will lose one or quite possibly two of the remaining games.
