Re: #8 Manchester vs. #1 Coalgrove 2/27
Coal Grove plays a physical, hard nosed style of game. They rebound well, they play solid defense, they have pretty good guard play most times, they have some depth. All the makings of a tourney contender. I would say the Schott is a reach for them though. Most teams who get to that point have at least one guy who can take over a game. Coal Grove does not have that. I do think this team is a regional contender though without question.
As for this game I don’t know much about Manchester but reading these comments that their guard is back does help them some. CG plays a much, much tougher schedule however and is ready to go. I see CG starting slow due to the long lay off but hits their stride before the half and runs away with it.

Sam Angelo and Jeb Jones will pose a difficult matchup in the post for the Greyhounds. The Hornets are also a good ballhandling team, and for the most part don't beat themselves. Coal Grove's schedule was the toughest of any D4 school in the SE district, and in a strong year in the OVC, finished a solid 3rd. I picked them preseason to go to the regionals.

They pose a threat underneath but you also have to watch the 3 arc shooters as well . With the long layoff everyone should be healthy and more than ready to play .trojandave wrote: ↑Thu Feb 22, 2018 4:22 pm Sam Angelo and Jeb Jones will pose a difficult matchup in the post for the Greyhounds. Unless Gould shows up to play hard and the outside shots are falling for Manchester, it will be Coal Grove by 17.

Coal Grove is good but I don't see them blowing anyone out at this time of the year. Grove by 12.

I'm sure the grove is chomping at the bit to get back on the court after a few weeks lay off with out a game after Portsmouth east canceled on them . Ill say by 10 + now after being well rested and 100% healthy
