She'll have another one there in the first round of the A10 tourney, and is living up to the pre-season pick to be the A10 player of the year and is the league's highest % trey shooter, and again today shooting 50+% in the game with 27 points and 8 assists against the #1 defensive team in the league with only 2 losses, both to UD. Hopefully Ella can have a comparable career at UD.
If a kid had half the success Burdette has enjoyed during her time at Dayton, that would be considered a success. She is fun to watch, always under control. Completely different players and positions but both are special and we don’t see that to often , at least around our area.

Does anyone know much about Eastern Brown. What kind of chances does Southeastern have?

Eastern Brown has a great coach, nice size with skill and a couple good guards that can shoot. They have however played all season without their 6’1 star player Alison Day. With Day EB would be returning to the Final 4....without her this SE game is probably a 60/40 game in their favor.

One advantage they may have is they have played Lynchburg 3x with their star player Peyton Scott...she scored 40 their first matchup but was held in control some the last two in which they won. Skeens is different than Scott as a player but both are a huge portion of their teams offense.

EB has a nice team, they are more beatable for sure than last year but they are good at winning the close games and players have great tournament experience....Coach is a factor as he is one of the better ones.

At the start of the season Anything past a sectional would probably be considered a success in the minds of a lot of people for this team, had me believing it. we had to replace some key parts lost to graduation and kids have stepped into these roles and made it a fun group to watch.
Eastern is definitely the favorite it will take a (Miami Trace) game type effort to get the win and they must start shooting the ball like they had for the majority of the season. We have struggled the last 5/6 games. Our lack of depth may be catching up to us. With tired legs. Hope they have a few good ones left, cause it will be needed to have a chance to get the W.

It's going to come down to SE's supporting cast, if they can pull some of the defense away from Ella, they have a good chance. SE shot 18% I believe in the tourney game last year against EB, can't have that happen again. I think Mitten is the key, if she can help extend the defense, Ella can play her game.

Big win for the Lady Panthers last night. As I stated would need to be the case, McKinley Mitten stepped up with a big 12pt effort, Collins and Hice did a pretty nice job on EB's two bigs, and Morris came up with some critical plays on the defensive end in the final minutes. SE got out big, 20-4 at one point, but EB went to the press and SE looked lost at times. Ella scored 21 to become the all-time scoring leader in Ross County(boys or girls) history, but more importantly, and impressively, she brought down 16 boards going up against two 6 footers. Skeens vs Daniels in the District finals should be pretty special.

Congratulations to Ella Skeens on becoming the ALL TIME LEADING SCORER IN ROSS COUNTY HISTORY (boy or girl). She needed 17 to break the record of 2,255. She tied the record with a pair of FT's in the 3rd and then broke it with a bucket (also in the 3rd) to propel her to 2,257. She ended the night with 21 points and stands at 2,260.
As se-alum stated, Skeens rebounds were just as impressive and Id like to know how many assists she had as well. She made some great passes.

One last congrats to the Lady Panthers girls team, Time to move on and continue to work and improve for the upcoming season.

SE fans if you want to see some good basketball In the near future. Ella Skeens was chosen to play in the O.G.B.R. 2018 top 20 talent showcase at Reynoldsburg High school on March 18.Top 20 seniors in the state of Ohio. The roster is loaded with talent. Her team alone has kids who have signed with . Notre Dame, Florida State, Iowa State, Toledo, Dayton, university of Miami, New Mexico, etc. The names on both squads are The Who’s who of Ohio Basketball in the class of 2018. Most of these kids have played with and definately against one another over the years. Should be a great day with all kinds of talent on display.

Didn't get to attend the talent show but was told Ella played really well by people in attendance. Checked it out on YouTube and it looked like she did her thing. 👍 Next up North/South game in April. Was also told Rachel Collins will be playing in the District 14 all star game. Best of luck to both.

Ella Skeens wrapped up her high school basketball career tonight at the North/South all star game. The South was on the losing end 95-86.
Ella played pretty well and ended the night with 30 points.

The southeast district kids represented the area well, this is always a top notch game and was competitive throughout. Best of luck to all as they head off to college.
