This is an interesting matchup to me. I’m throwing regular season records out the window since both teams are 2-0 in the 2nd season.

So here is the way I see it. Southeastern plays in a Div. II/III league and Eastern plays in a Div. IV league. Preparation for the Div - III tournament - advantage to Southeastern. Southeastern is a regular in Div. III and was in the Division III district tournament last year. This is Eastern’s first year in Div. III. Advantage to Southeastern. Both teams have good big men and both have good point guards. Hartman for Southeastetn may be the X-factor in this game.

I see Southeastern having been in this situation before and Eastern has not. I give the advantage to Southeastern in this game. BUT .... that is just my opinion!

This may be Eastern’s first rodeo in D3 but Coach Barrick has quite a few years of handling business in the D3 district and I think you’ll be hard pressed to find a team better prepared than the ones he puts on the floor. I’d say Eastern tasks care of business and we’ll get to see two coaching legends go at again in the district finals.

Eastern has a coach that will have them ready for a tournament game regardless if it is DIII or DIV. However, he can't shoot foul shots for them and if they go 2-11 again in a game then they could be in trouble. Southeastern has played their best basketball in the last 2 post seasons so I think they keep it close and if the Eagles make foul shots they win. If not, Southeastern has another upset and possibly another shot at Oak Hill. Will be a 4 point game either way.

Barrick has Eagles playing good at the right time.I think Southeastern will play well and I expect it to be close, but I think Eastern prevails 64-56.
