If USC is still in it then by God OSU is still in it. the Big Ten may not be what it used to be but it's a helluva lot tougher than the Pac-10.

Hey Qualified, just because Tennessee got embarrased on National TV by an awful UCLA team doesn't mean the PAC 10 is a good conference. Oregon is WAY overrated - had to come back from 17 down to beat a lower-tier Purdue team that got crushed by Notre Dame. Penn State pretty much laid Oregon State to rest before the Beavers beat USC (they've lost 2 out of the last three to Oregon State - way to play like the "best team in the nation"... maybe the USC boosters should start trying to just buy wins from other schools instead of buying players). California? Puleeeeeaaaassse!
I've already said that I agree that OSU doesn't need to be in the National Championship this year, but if you even dare to compare the Big 10 to the PAC 10 top-to-bottom, I'll stop you in your tracks.

Re: USC still in hunt for National Title,Mark May said so.
really,
both conferences are second class citizens compared to sec and possibly the big 12 so it really doesnt matter. its like being 3rd or 4th loser.
the quote was the "big 10 is a heck of a lot tougher than the pac 10" which is not true. they are about even. there is no way to prove which conference is better, so it is a moot point. both conferences have one great team with usc and penn state, other than that, there is nothing to talk about. now psu vs usc would be a great game to watch imo.

you're right, neither conference is anything to be proud of and it is tough to compare two different conferences but i'll try my best. let's take the easiest route and look at top 25 teams from each conference...
AP
Big 10
6. Penn State
14.Ohio State
18. Wisconson
and IMO, Illinois should not have dropped out of the top 25 after losing to PSU but i guess that's why i dont make the polls.
Pac 10
9. USC
23. Oregon
USA Today
Big 10
6. Penn State
12. Ohio State
17. Wisconson
Pac 10
9. USC
20. Oregon
advantage...Big 10
Now that both teams have one loss let's look at them 1 on 1...
both schools play 3 ranked teams
OSU
1. USC
18. Wisconson
6. Penn State
USC
Virginia (who i think was about 22nd at the time)
5. OSU
23. Oregon
yes, USC beat OSU in LA but then went on to loose to unranked Oregon St.
advantage...neither. i think USC should be ahead of OSU in the polls simply because they won the match up but i dont think OSU deserves to be 5 spots behind them.

The only reason is because their high ranking in the inital poll. If they win out the voters will keep USC in the hunt. I hope that Notre Dame kicks the sh!t outta USC. I'm so sick and tired of hearing USC year after year.
Mark May is the biggest D bag on TV.

Penn State, Ohio State, Wisconsin, and Illinois would beat any team in the PAC 10 except USC at least 6/10 times they played.
The PAC 10 should scare NO ONE.
Haha Qualified: if the Big 10 and PAC 10 are 2nd Class citizens compared to the SEC, what does that make Tennessee?

What do you think Mark May would say if Ohio State and USC met again in the Rose Bowl? Would he pick USC by 50+?
Re: USC still in hunt for National Title,Mark May said so.
USC by at least 4 td's.Bash him all you want but he nailed the first match up on the head.Like it or not...As they say "some dance to remember and some dance to forget"

actually, my vols are terrible this year as i predicted. as ive said b4, please listen this time, fulmer is not a good recruiter or motivator. until he leaves, ut will only be mediocre at best. they will pull an occasional upset but can also get beat by a nobody on any given saturday. your taunting about ut will not get under my skin because im smart enough to know they arent very good(but better than 60% of big 10 teams).

most likely, but he only keeps his Pitt shrine out for all to see...his tribute to Pete Carroll and USC football is in the back of his closet so his college buddies can't see.

It does not matter what the bucks do this year all the teams ahead of them could lose 2 times and were still not going to be in the top 2. The Highers to be dont want us in another NCG this year.

And your baseless bashing of the Big 10 (and no, Tennessee is not better than most Big 10 teams this year) will not get under mine. Go on Sportsline.com and see where the PAC 10 is ranked among the BCS conferences - DEAD LAST (The Big 10 is ranked 2nd).
