Who Will The Brown Take In The Draft? And will it matter?
Re: Who Will The Brown Take In The Draft? And will it matter?
Read where the Bills may trade up to #3 Colts pick for the QB. After acquiring #12 pick from the Bengals. Things are starting to get interesting for the race to the top of the draft. Makes the Browns picks in high demand.
The Shelton trade did free up more on Salary Cap if they want to make a move. Just thought they may get more for him

Still can't totally figure out the Tyrod trade. I get it but there were other targets to go after. Bills may have cut him later anyway.

Brown's sign a Steelers lineman to a 5 year deal .
Re: Who Will The Brown Take In The Draft? And will it matter?
Chris Hubbard pick good pick up. Some talk the Browns were looking at Pats OT Solder. He is starting to show some wear after 8 seasons. Joe Thomas will announce if staying or retiring soon. That would free up more money if he leaves.

Browns also signed Offensive Tackle Donald Stephenson from the Denver Broncos — $2.5 million for one year. Stephenson spent four seasons with Kansas City.
Defensive End Chris Smith from the Cincinnati Bengals — $14 million for three years. Smith spent the 2017 season in Cincy after three years with the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Browns are putting some pieces together. If they can come together as a team could be 6 wins or more.

Now adding Carlos Hyde, which might negate taking Barkley with #1 pick. They still need help at DB so thinking Fitzpatrick is back in their target line, unless they now trade a pick. If they go QB at #1, it has to be Darnold, though I'm not sold on him. I'd strongarm the Jets to move up. You can get Allen at 5

I wouldn't discount not taking Barkley as multiple running backs has become popular in the NFL now. Sure makes the offers for #1 or #4 come in for teams wanting to move up. Not easy to predict what the Browns will do which drives teams to overpay to move up.
I like Fitzpatrick who can do so much to help erase mistakes. The rookie QB's they better do their homework on. Allen has his upside but the 2 shoulder surgeries are not good with Browns history.

Ole Tigerbait might start becoming a Browns fan now lol. He desperately wanted the Bengals to draft Hyde years ago.

One thing is for sure, it will be different on the lake this fall. That old adage about needing a program to know the players really applies now.

It's really on Hue to win now. Not playoffs but the team has to function like an organization with some purpose and identity. He can't use the line that the team has to play a perfect game just to compete. He needs to DEVELOP some talent. If he doesn't, a lot of fans will want to dunk him in the lake.

The noble warrior. At the same time, how many winning seasons did he have? This shows teams need to draft for high value positions and move personnel as benefits the org. Patriots anyone? I love the loyal guys. I'd rather have Lombardi Trophies.

Re: Who Will The Brown Take In The Draft? And will it matter?
Just imagine much better he could have been with better players around him. High quality person off the field also. One of the big reasons why the Browns kept him with all the questionable players they brought in over the years. Which now has him in high demand as he has retired. All from a player while in college didn't think much about going to the NFL. Then showed that going fishing with his dad on draft day was more important than showing up at New York for the party.
Shows picking a good left tackle how important it is to a team. Being good with high character is a plus. Browns could have gotten something by trading him but gained more from keeping him. As they had already lost a lot of fans and support for the team. You can't keep all the players for their entire career but they kept the right one.

Understand Farmer. In a vacuum, Browns couldn't do any better than Thomas. But I'd trade that in a flash if we had a good owner/GM/coach trio. As fans, we cant do anything about that but if we were the Patriots, how would we be feeling now? As for Thomas, he follows in footsteps of John Hannah.

Re: Who Will The Brown Take In The Draft? And will it matter?
That was it couldn't trust the owner and GM as well as others in the front/back office. I would have traded him also. Just sometimes you make an exception. Like the Pats with Brady. The Pats were not always what they are now. Thomas was about the only good thing going to attract other players to come to Cleveland then and even more now. Even if he has retired. Good to see a team stand by him all those years as he wanted to stay in Cleveland. I do think it was the right choice looking back at it. For one big reason those idiots in charge would have screwed it up. With nothing to show for it. Seems the Browns are pointed in the right direction. Hopefully they continue that way and not change direction after the first loss.
