Re: Who throws the fastest?
Been a couple years since I have seen a true 85, but I have only caught 8-10 games in that time period so not a tremendous representation. Saw a kid from Lexington Catholic a couple years ago at the Greenup tourney touch 85. Moore and Martin both were in that range plus some during their time at Burg. 85 has a different sound to it lol, good question be interesting to see how many fireballers are out there.

Re: Who throws the fastest?
Apparently Unioto has a loaded rotation this year, maybe someone from up that way knows if they have a couple arms that can bring it.
Re: Who throws the fastest?
I’d guess Evan Brill a junior at Whiteoak gets it up around 78.
Jackson’s Conner Gerstenberger and Brice Graham probably 79-80

I know of one boy from Unioto that can bring it upwards of 88. Last name is PattersonAbe Froman wrote: ↑Sun Mar 25, 2018 10:57 am Apparently Unioto has a loaded rotation this year, maybe someone from up that way knows if they have a couple arms that can bring it.

Re: Who throws the fastest?
We had him at 81 -82 in a scrimmage last week. I know it's early and has been cold out and I am sure he has thrown harder but a big difference in 81 and 88. He is very talented as well as the whole Unioto Squad. Good luck to them this spring.SuperSpartan02 wrote: ↑Tue Mar 27, 2018 11:00 amI know of one boy from Unioto that can bring it upwards of 88. Re: Who throws the fastest?
I had the Patterson kid at 86 in the tournament last year against Chillicothe. He sat at 86 for the first 6 innings. Unioto also added the Blevins kid, if he is able to pitch after 14 games they are dangerous.

Patterson hit 88 at the end of summer travel season consistently. Ooten was hitting 83-84 consistently at the end of summer, sitting around 78-79 now. Sigler is sitting around 78-80 and Blevins will be available game 14 of the season. They have a couple new arms as well.

Cody Lewis from rockhill throws a true 85. Had a chance to see him in action, he definitely lives up to the hype.

Re: Who throws the fastest?
Because 80 is really hard in the grand scheme of things lolRaider6309 wrote: ↑Mon Apr 02, 2018 7:37 pm I always get a good laugh when people says someone throws over 80.
There's a huge difference between 80 and 85, especially considering kids tend to be closer to 75 than 85.
Patterson from Unioto was throwing very hard early tonight and came down a bit in his last 2 innings. Struck out 13 and only gave up a bunt single. I'm excited to see how he throws later in the spring once it warms up.

Do you know the easiest way to add 5 mph to your fastball?
Post it on the internet.

Re: Who throws the fastest?
I can personally guarantee that Harley Patterson was throwing in mid 80’s early in the game last night. He was consistently at 80 after first couple of innings. My radar gun measures within 1mph of the expensive guns so I know it wasn’t off by much

Re: Who throws the fastest?
Pitchers usually throw harder after the first couple of innings due to being loser...You better calibrate that gun....If you had said he started out around 80 first couple innings then was throwing 85 towards middle innings I would go for that. No Pitcher should lose 5 MPH after 2 innings...He should actually pick up speed....

Re: Who throws the fastest?
Pitchers shouldn't be taking the mound until they are loose. Seems like faulty logic to me.donaldtrump wrote: ↑Tue Apr 03, 2018 10:41 pm Pitchers usually throw harder after the first couple of innings due to being loser...You better calibrate that gun....If you had said he started out around 80 first couple innings then was throwing 85 towards middle innings I would go for that. Re: Who throws the fastest?
I’m sure you’re right Donaldtrump...I’m sure the radar gun was wrong in the first innning and then decided to correct itself later on in the game. Or, possibly he had a lot of adrenaline early in the game and then settled in to a more comfortable velocity after the first couple innings? I don’t know what I’m talking about though and you obviously do so I will try and get my radar calibrated so I don’t pass along anymore false information.
