It's still the boards choice old timer. Look where their first two choices have gotten them.
Totally understand that youngin(79), but they cant approve a candidate unless loafin lafon finds em one... I mean he couldn't entice greenup freakin county's coach to jump on over.. Not that I wanted a former raceland qb leading us...
The Board does not have to wait on Lafon or even consider who he wants. It takes 4 votes to go around a Superintendent should be the same or even just 3 votes to go around an AD. Just helps to add to the turmoil off the football field.

90 percent of the posters on here could care less about Ironton football period.
Every school in this area that made changes ran into all kinds of issues here is the list below:
- Rock Hill - took 3 years hired the same coach back twice
- Coal Grove - brought back the same coach hire a new coach he left and hired a new young coach
- Portsmouth - 5 years 3 different coaches
- South Point - I lost count of how many new coaches they have had a new one this year.
- Gallipolis - 3 different coaches in 5 years
Talked to a board member. Who is out of town. said he knows they've talked to a couple. But they have not gotten a commitment from anyone. So doesn't look like they'll be voting on one early next week. When will it end.

I heard two names today that applied and not even interviewed. Both of them should have been. Sounds to me like the AD and principal are keeping qualified candidates out of the process for reasons they should be held accountable for.
I just drove by the High School, who knows who all of the Football players were on the field? They had helmets and Jessie’s on. Looked to be 40 or so players dressed.

That’s the semi pro team
You could tell they wasn’t high school kids for sure.
After doing acme asking around Im getting the impression that Grizzle would be the choice if he would accept. Also Penfleton would be an assistant with him..If not Pendleton and Triplett would be great also.
The only way Tripplett will coach is if Pendleton gets the job. And I don’t think there’s anyway you get Pendleton as an Assistant at Ironton. That’s a lateral move from his current situation at a school where he’s like admired. You can take that to the bank.
After doing some thinking, first step in turning the Tigers around next season we are changing the helmets to white with a tiger on the sides, YTB might be upset with changing the helmets but it is only the first step in turning the program around. We will also have a white out one home game.
I hope they offer and he accepts, I think he can get the job done and I hope he’s in it for the long haul if he accepts. I read the article and After reading it, I have no doubt he can get the job done, he knows football inside and out. I think with the Assistant Coaches He’ll have that the Ironton Fighting Tigers will be back to prominence in a short period of time. He’s definitely a great role model for the youth.
