His son is. He took donations. Lift a thon.HamPorter wrote: ↑Wed May 02, 2018 3:09 pmIs he autistic? Not really sure how that would raise awareness for autism if not. Pretty cool, just I have no idea how some of these things are raising awareness lolBlizzardMan wrote: ↑Wed May 02, 2018 2:28 pmNot Jason Peck. He was the right hire. And one of his former guys just lifted over 1,800 lbs. total for Autism Awareness.Orestes' wrote: ↑Wed May 02, 2018 2:09 pm
You know what they say about those SG coaches. "Proven winners, kids run through brick walls, players lifting trucks in their weight room..." Remember when Jesty was going to save the VC football program? We all saw how that ended, but those SG guys just keep getting jobs. Can't beat'em.

I'd say it's time for RV to go outside the area. Heard of at least one promising out of state. Don't ask for names because I don't have any but I was told the candidates that are being considered are good ones.

Maybe I'm just too much of a pessimist, but I don't see them getting anyone that great. There's very little that's attractive about the job IMO. The gym sucks, talent isn't there and the community doesn't really back the guy in the role.

Some are attracted to the chance to build a program from the ashes, and a lot of times people are looking to relocate.sandstorm23 wrote: ↑Thu May 03, 2018 7:45 am Maybe I'm just too much of a pessimist, but I don't see them getting anyone that great. who all has moved on to take over a bigger program? how did they do at the next stop?Orestes' wrote: ↑Wed May 02, 2018 2:09 pmYou know what they say about those SG coaches. I get your point, but loose ball drills are pretty stupid IMO. There isn't a benefit in doing them. Kids get hurt/banged up for no reason. Kids aren't going to pass on going after balls in actual games because they didn't line up and hammer each other in a drill in practice IMO.
So they just hired Peck knowing he'd be fired soon after? That's pretty interesting.
Re: River Valley Job Opening
Whatever was decided about this job? Have they interviewed some candidates?

One thing for sure
The collective IQ of the parents and fans at RV is lower than the coach they will hire and yet they will run him out in less than four years
The clock is ticking

Re: River Valley Job Opening
With no teaching position open, RV was a kind of up against it, therefore an immediately local candidate was chosen.
