Correct. However its important to understand any success will be on a significantly smaller scale amd in much smaller increments than years passed. Its vital to adjust expectations accordingly.transplant wrote: ↑Thu May 10, 2018 6:56 am A lot of good info Carlito. I do not have any emotional investment whatsoever either. So as an outsider looking in, I would think that seeing discipline, hard work, effort, positive attitudes, kids enjoying playing the game, parents and administration supporting the new coach and staff would go a long way in getting their program back to where all the Ironton faithfuls want it to be. I do wish Pendleton luck and hope he has a lot of success there.

Alright Mr. socio-economic guru, what is your solution to the status of the Ironton program? If you have none, why bother with all of this nonsense? Move on to a thread where your negativity is welcome. I could not care less for your constant pessimism. I wish all SEO programs well and want to them all to suceed regardless of your meanderingsBigCarlito72 wrote: ↑Wed May 09, 2018 11:48 pm Irontons steady - consistent population decline

Presently the median age average in Ironton
Male - 42
Female- 38
The median age in Ironton is over 2% older than the state average.
Ironton currently has over a 3.1% unemployment rate.
The poverty rate in Ironton is 40% higher than the national average.
In approximately a 5 year span Irontons enrollment decreased by 100 students. 100!
The population is Still In steady decline.
The median age is aging.
Seriously - where is the numbers and the people going to come from that will be significant enough to change the steady population decline and counter the aging median average in order to sustain this school and this football program over the next 5 - 10 years as well as long term?
And for those of you who do not find reality as a significant variable consider this.
Presently just below 400 student enrollment.
Per the above in 5 years or so you will be around 300 total enrollment or just below.
The roster will dip from 40 to around 30 or so - and so on and so on.
This is just the truth. I have no emotional investment whatsoever. The question is still valid and relevant to the discussion.
There is only so much a coach or coaches can do. They cannot change any of these applicable factors.
So what should your TRUE and realistic expectations be?
It is food for thought.
Are you prepared to accept the reality of the inevitable?

But Carlito is describing something that I have also observed, guys. Higher Population density and familial stability (usually most affected by finances) compared to your divisional peers are the keys to long term football success, certainly in the smaller divisions.
Ironton is dropping by both metrics. To say this is true is NOT saying that there are no kids in stable situations; it is merely saying that there are fewer in those good situations across the district.

That’s not completely far fetched. Ironton’s enrollment # is 155 and CB # is 169. DVI is 114-162.
