Re: INFORMATION ON LAKE WHITE.
I WANTED TO PUT THIS ON THE LAKE WHITE COMMUNITY FACEBOOK PAGE, BUT THOUGHT THAT I SHOULD NOT. --------------------------------------- PLEASE SOMEBODY TELL ME THIS IS NOT TRUE. I HEARD FROM A VERY RELIABLE SOURCE SATURDAY THAT WE ARE GOING TO FIND OUT THIS THURSDAY THE 12TH, WHETHER THE LAKE IS GOING TO EMPTIED AGAIN. THIS IS MADDENING HEARING THIS. ESPECIALLY WITH THE LAKE HOLDING WATER,THE FISHING COMING BACK. AND THE LAKE COMING BACK TO LIFE. THE BOATS AND ALL THE SWIMMING AND ACTIVITIES AROUND THE LAKE. BUT I HAVE WONDERED WHY WE HAVE HEARD NOTHING ABOUT RESTOCKING FISH YET. ======================= I PROMISE YOU WITH EVERY FIBER IN MY BODY, I'M NOT TRYING TO START A RUMOR OR UPSET ANYONE. IF ANYONE TAKES IT THAT WAY, THEN THAT WAS NOT MY INTENTION. CAN SOMEONE LET US KNOW SOMETHING DEFINITIVE ABOUT THIS. TOM OSBORNE, LAKE WHITE ROAD.

YTB,
The state giveth, and the state taketh away. Of course the "state" should be the people via their elected representatives. The reality is that unelected career bureaucrats make decisions but they have little or no accountability for their actions which lead to fiascos like Lake White.
If the state starts over on the lake, I hope the reason is for legitimate safety reasons on the dam and SR 104. I would also think that the original contractor is held financially responsible. I know it would be too much to ask that ODNR folks who made bad decisions be held accountable.
Lake property owners and businesses, along with the Village of Waverly, and Pike County cannot bear another financial hit.

Re: INFORMATION ON LAKE WHITE.
a post I just shared on facebook
Tom Osborne listen guys, we know we will lose some water to evaporation. since the rain has stopped it has dropped 4/5 inches. but we have had ample rain this year. so if that continues we should be fine. but property owners need to be told if there is still a problem. my advice is to leave the dam up. do not manipulate because of heavy rainfall. which they have done excellent about this year. let the dam do what a dam does. i tip my hat to them for not doing that this year with the heavy rains we've had. and everybody has been watching the levels daily daily. leave everything alone and let the silt from these hills and runoff settle in. and we should be fine. --------------------------- the thing that bothers me is with the lake holding water. how was something noticed as a problem. is this just a rumor, or can someone from odot or odnr say something like, hey it's cool nothing is wrong. that would make a whole county people feel a whole lot better about the situation
