Eisenhower
Haller
Evans
Graham
Humphreys
Landrum and company
Now the two transfers, the offense should be awesome, BUT the o-line throws up the red flag, would have been nice to have got in some o-line. if they can get things going on the line then the offense will put up a lot of points this year.
Defensively Jackson will be very strong and dominate mostly. Time will only tell and in game reps. there will be some young talent in there also. Looking forward to this season.

Who is the young talent? I saw their 8th grade last year and they had some good players but varsity is alot different.Ironmen#2588 wrote: Fri Jul 20, 2018 11:55 am Eisenhower

the incoming freshman and sophomores, there will most likely be some of those guys will be used to give the older guys breathers. Coach hall will have to use some more younger guys this year. Probably more than what he has done in the past. I know varsity is a lot different, but it’s time to put their big pants on. those young cats have been itching to get up to varsity and some will have the opportunity to prove their worth.

The only focus right now is Wellston. They are state power lifting champions and this is year 2 under new system. Jackson is focused 100% on prepping for the Rockets .

I could see a couple guys moving to the O line for the good of the order .Ironmen#2588 wrote: Fri Jul 20, 2018 11:55 am Eisenhower

I truly believe you could take a kid like Humphreys or Haller and play them just about any position on either side of the ball and they’d hold their own at every position and be very good at several of them. Last year with all the injuries they took a skilled kid in Ty Ruckel and he jumped right in on the line. In similar fashion Ruckel one of those kids that could hold his own about anywhere (he was QB all through) but now will be one of the leaders of the young line. I’ve always liked when skill kids step in to help out on the offensive line. No coincidence some of the greatest JHS lineman were skilled athletes and not 260 lb strong kids.Poo Bear wrote: Sat Jul 21, 2018 7:59 pmI could see a couple guys moving to the O line for the good of the order .Ironmen#2588 wrote: Fri Jul 20, 2018 11:55 am Eisenhower

Like I said, Jackson is Linebacker U....many of those kids can play numerous positions. Offensive line might be one of them.

that is so well said......there was a time when NFL talent and prospect Erik Davis was leading the way for Mr. Ohio Football Shane Wolford that a guard was playing at 180-190lbs (with program helpIronman92 wrote: Sat Jul 21, 2018 8:10 pmI truly believe you could take a kid like Humphreys or Haller and play them just about any position on either side of the ball and they’d hold their own at every position and be very good at several of them. Greg Parks was an outstanding offensive line player despite being undersized. His son Brice will be one of the stud defensive players on this team.countywide35 wrote: Mon Jul 23, 2018 3:17 pmthat is so well said......there was a time when NFL talent and prospect Erik Davis was leading the way for Mr. Jackson o-line should take all the doubters and use this for motivation coming out with an extreme chip on their shoulder and pave a way to a FAC title and a play-off spot......

Re: 2018 Jackson Ironmen Football Outlook
I couldn’t gather a ton from the scrimmage. Hopefully the coaching staff got to see a lot of what they needed to. Offense completely vanilla I thought and without identity....but it’s a first scrimmage too. Defense legit and some serious mashers. A ton of kids were in and out of offensive line, that will clear up as the practices continue. I think Reece Graham with a couple more weeks of practices and getting back to football could fill a void there, but so might several others.
Ice had some nice passes and runs. I thought Jayden Spires and Bryce Parks were excellent and on both side of the ball. Yates had some real nice plays. Matt Humphreys was known on defense and I thought younger brother Caden looked good. Ty Ruckel solid on both sides of ball.
Reserve offense both Evan Spires and Drew Bragg looked solid at QB and Tristan Prater displayed his ball skills.
Not sure I noticed Brice Graham or Caleb Haller get a carry?

Nah this team is better than the 2012 and 2013 teams that were barely over .500 at 11-9.Ironmen44 wrote: Fri Aug 10, 2018 9:24 pmGuess we will see who is out of the loop or maybe never been in the loop.....doubleplay643 wrote: Wed Jun 06, 2018 4:48 pmMust be out of the loop, this will be a very good team.Ironmen44 wrote: Tue Jun 05, 2018 10:16 pm This will be one of the weakest teams Jackson has had in the last 10 years.
Those were some tough years
Re: 2018 Jackson Ironmen Football Outlook
2011 10-0
2012 5-5
2013 6-4
So the answer would be no they were 5-5
