Varsity played 3 quarters with West winning 7-0. Offensive line needs major work or there will be very little scoring. Defense played a decent game. Had one long pass play down to the 1 but fumbled two plays later.

Agree Tiger80 but who didn't think OL would have a steep learning curve?

Two of last years starters transferred to out of state schools. Klaiber and Redmond graduated. Only Humphreys at tackle returns as a full time starter from last year and he is playing his third position in three years after manning the TE spot as a sophomore and guard as a junior. Rowe played a lot but has missed considerable time the last two seasons with injuries. He too has played several positions in his career. The guard and center candidates have only made cameo appearances the last two years.

Opening the playbook in the real games will help take some heat off the OL and keep the blitz happy defenses honest.

Tigers must finish their first two drives then it is a different game with a fumble inside the West 1 and the drop of a wide open pass in the end zone. I really don't recall seeing West threaten to score outside their touchdown drive.

This team is working very hard and will improve weekly. Burg is a tall task in week 1.

Was a good physical scrimmage for both teams. West lost the entire offensive line from last year too so they are in rebuilding mode too upfront.

sounds like a bunch of young'uns getting their licks in and learning on the fly. sounds like a close, physical game.

Very good scrimmage for both teams. I still think some of the blocking assignments need adjusted. Especially down on the goal line for Ironton. Looked like they were trying to run a counter on the goal line very tough to do that inside the 5 yard line. Got a 230 lb back straight dive and see what happens down there. Hat on hat for the linemen and 230 lbs straight at you is tough to stop. I am sure as the season goes on line play will get better. Ironton and West are both young at those positions this year. Good luck to both teams and stay injury free.

Looks like Coach Pendleton has the Fighting Tigers headed in the right direction. They looked to be a lot better conditioned than in the past few years, never gave up and fought hard to the very end. Practice like you play and play like you practice, get after the Red Devils.

I agree, sounded like a few cramps here n there for both squads. but that's to be expected. you see in in all levels. the tigers stood toe to toe with burg. and I look for a much better season this year overall.
