We are in for one awesome year of football in this region, especially OVAC. Here’s what I gathered.

Meadowbrook: state championship contenders.
Shenandoah: State Champions contenders.
St. C: deep deep playoff run
Barnesville: week 11-13 expectations
Caldwell: week 11-13 expectations
Shadyside: week 11-13 expectations

Add to that Big Red going deep!

You on the hype train? Shenandoah hasn’t beat Fort since 2011 and they are talking state title. Meadowbrook won’t even beat John Glenn.

The problem with all of that is you're not going to get brute honesty. I mean no coach or player is going to say, "yeah I think we've got a shot at playoffs but we'll be out after the 1st round." Or a team that will be 5-6 team win isn't going to go into the season saying, "we're nothing more than a .500 or so team." Glad they got their interview and face time in but from a fans point of view you just can't get caught up in that. I'd like to think every time starts out the season saying we're a playoff or state championship contender.

Honestly, it's no different than fans/experts on here spouting off predictions and speculating on things they do not know. At this time of year, one should show some optimism. Good thing is - it does not matter. The games are decided on the field.
