the switching of QB's would have been better if they would have had TP taking the snap and running some kind of reverse pass where he would have ran one way and handed off to Todd going another way for a pass deep down a sideline.

I don't know why Tressel benched Boeckman after one horrible game in the beggining of the season. Ohio State wasn't going to play for a title after losing so bad to USC and getting beat by Penn State. I would have red shirted Pryor and gave him one more year of eligibility and give him the opportunity to grow as a QB and improve his passing game. I would have stuck with Boeckman because he is usually consistent. I won't lie, but if Boeckman have started in last nights game I'm sure Ohio State would have scored more than a touchdown or two.

I dont see it that way. Boeckman couldnt pick up those 4-5 first downs in the first quarter with his legs. That pass rush from Texas would have gotten to him and they would have led to lost yardage in sacks or worse, turnovers.

I liked the way they used Boeckman, but he is not as good of an overall QB as Pryor is. Pryor is hard to gameplan for, because if you go after him, he can run. If he runs, he can still stop and throw the deepball with decent accuracy.

Anyone want Cooper back? Do we want to go back to losing to Michigan every year and then end up playing (and losing to) Navy in the Liberty Bowl? Yes, I do remember those days and never want to go back there. I'll take Tressel and a BCS loss every year. If you can't live with that, get a life or a hobby. I hear stamp collecting is rewarding.

Oh, didn't you read my post - I found a new hobby: book burning. It really took the edge off another disappointing year of Ohio State Football.
So you're implying that OSU fans should just settle for mediocrity? Because that's what the past three years have been - going to the big games because we draw a large crowd and then losing in front of the whole country to the jeers of "O-verrated".

I believe it was Air Force they were defeated by, not Navy.

I honestly believe Beanie will be a bust in the NFL and is not even worth a top 10 pick in the draft.... Lastnight proved Beanie is not going to suck it up and come in and play while hurt or even act like he is going to run the ball.

No, I'm implying that no team will go undefeated and win it all every year....or even every other year. Too many irrational Buckeye fans think that is the only measure of a successful season. And I really don't care what other fans jeer. I think the Buckeyes played tough and gave a good accounting of themselves last night. There was nothing in that game to be ashamed of. Texas could have VERY easily been playing for all the marbles Thursday night in place of Oklahoma. For the record, I think USC is the best team in college football right now and I HATE the Trojans!

I think it was the Air Force. Just felt like we were on a sinking ship.

There definitely could have been some different play calling at the end of the game on both sides of the ball.
Run the clock down and settle for the gw field goal.. or run the clock and force UT to burn the to's the had left, kick the field goal, then let the defense do their job.
defensively .. keep a safety at all times and play the short pass.

I spent a lot of money but, I enjoyed watching the game. Even though the outcome wasn't what I wanted, I had fun. :)

My thought is with his injury history why would any team chance a top pick on him?

Anyone complaining about the defense is reaching in my opinion. They gave up 24 points and were an inch from giving up 17 (and I'm still not convinced the guy didn't fumble and then recover his own fumble well behind the first down line). Texas can score. Plus, it did not help them that the offense went 3 and out on the first two drives of the 3rd quarter. The D was gassed for a while.

I also agree partially about Boeckman, but here is why he couldn't be the full-time starter..... The Offensive Line. Boeckman would have been killed. He never would have lost hit spot if not for the line and I am positive Tressel feels the same way. The pass blocking was just terrible all season long. They needed Pryor's ability to escape.

Anyone wanting JT gone is crazy too, and is merely upset because he or she drinks the ESPN Kool-Aide and needs OSU to stroke his or her ego. Cheer for OSU for yourself, your interest in the University, and for the other people you love who also love OSU. Quit worrying what outsiders think. BTW, OSU football is not in a state of mediocrity.

All OSU needs is....

Improvement on the Offensive Line (Brewster, Shugarts, Adams, and Boren (best lineman in bowl practice) are a good start).

An offensive identity.... everything seems "grab bag" right now. OSU needs to find what they want to do, what they do best, and just go with it.

IMO, OSU is a better offensive line from a dynasty-type program.

First off, your nuts if you want Tressel fired! Lets see, he's played for three National Championships and won one, He has taken them to a BCS bowl 7x's, he has a 4-3 record in them and he has beaten Michigan 7'x and lost once all in 8 years at OSU?
Tressel now is understanding that speed and spread is the name of the game. If he uses TP this way they will play for the National Championship in two years tops. TP is in a league all his own at QB. Yes, he must pass more and better. Even Texas head coach Mack said in the post game that TP will contend for the Heisman and lead them to the National Championship before he is gone, he is that good.

Nope, not at all. I said earlier in the season (after the USC debacle) that OSU had no business in the NC and that I didn't want to see them there. JT gets all these "great" recruits and squanders them because he and his staff have no clue what it means to have an identity on offense. They just do enough to get some points on the board and then rely on their defense to hold. For the most part, that will work during the conference slate, but not against the big boys. OSU's defense is vastly overrated, just like Texas' offense is overrated.

The Buckeyes had a decent outing - they should have put up at least 30 on that piss-poor excuse of a defense and how you let a guy throw for that kind of yardage when Texas has such an anemic running game is beyond me. Yes, that last drive was something to be ashamed of. Yeah, Texas could very well have dragged their overrated butts into the NC tomorrow night... and they would have promptly had them served to themselves by a REAL defense. McCoy would have probably been knocked out of the game - judging by the fact that Texas' line let OSU's defense knock him around the way they did - and he would have had to watch from the sidelines (probably with tears in his eyes) as his teammates were humiliated in front of the entire nation.

I agree on both counts....yes they are the best and yes I hate them.

How many more big time games must Ohio State lose before some realize that the current staff is not getting the job done? Is anyone at the point now of thinking changes are needed? Has the light be shined bright enough to show anyone that Tressel ball does not work against top notch teams. Or is everyone happy with being the laughing stock of the nation when it comes to college football.

Heacock?.... Seriously?..... I mean... Seriously?

You complain about Heacock's defense when the offense has been performing like it has been for a few years now?

What do you want from him? Since his start in 2005, OSU has given up an average of fewer points than any other team in college football. Any.

People moan when he rushes 3 or 4 and plays with zone coverage.

Well, he blitzed like crazy against UT and went man-to-man quite a bit.

Dam ned if you do and dam ned if you don't...

I would love for someone to tell me the defenses he used, how often we used which coverages, and what personnel packages he used most frequently. How did Heacock blow it? Explain.

As for me, I hope Heacock turns down the NFL.... for the 2nd time....
