WR coach is Zach Smith. A 5 year Meyer assistant at UF, and graduate of Dublin Coffman HS.

Meyer says, "he knows my system inside and out, and knows how I want it taught."

Zach Smith is also Earl Bruce's grandson.

Still need to find a good OL coach. Any names popping up for this job? This has been the problem here for 10 years. Lack of coaching here has been the reason QB play has had to be done on the run.

He has 2 positions to fill.
Likely OL and TE.

Tim Brewster has been the most talked about TE coach.
Studwara was the leader for OL as the OC also, but he is out.

No names piping up yet, at least not like Withers was ahead of the deal.

Despite the sanctions, I am still excited about the future of OSU football with Urban Meyer..........I figured that next year would be the time that Meyer gets the pieces together, player and coaching wise, with 2013 being the year that the Buckeyes can seriously contend for the national championship.

I still think that the Buckeyes can have a very good 2012 season........unfortunately they won't have the opportunity to play for the Big 10 title.........could be very similar to what USC's fate was this year when a very mediocre UCLA team played Oregon for the Pac-12 title.

Been a quiet week, but Tim Hinton is going to be at OSU with Meyer as the TE coach.

And also the UNC bowl game, where Withers will be the head coach. He was DC there when they built one of the best defenses in the country.
Not a lot to look forward to going by what I saw in those games. UNC defense gave up 40+ to a so-so Mizzou team and ISU struggled to get 14 on the board against a Big Least also ran.

Urban picked up 2 ND coaches.

Ed Warinner is coming to OSU to coach O-line, and Tim Hinton is coming to coach the TEs.

Meyer seems to have an obsession with ND Coaches and recruits over the years. I understand he and Hinton go way back and Hinton needs 3 years in Ohio to have 30 yrs for Ohio retirement. Warinner connection I guess is with Herman at Kansas. I am sure Meyer will try to poach Taylor Decker(OT) now also. If Meyer needs any more coaches he can have Brian Kelly too :) :)

Hinton is the guy who recruited Decker, ND fans should expect an attempted poaching!

Urban banned player twitter accounts today.
Frankly I think it's a good move, the players don't do themselves any favors on twitter, and it keeps them from getting very nasty messages from angry fans.

I've read many of these, and they can be very harsh.

Apparently no twitter ban.
Though at least 3 players tweeted there was.
OSU SID says not aware of ban, and many players have tweeted that there is no ban.

I agree they should. Like u said some of the players take a beating from mouthy fans via twitter. It's a shame people act so ridiculously stupid toward smarter athletes. Jared sullinger being one I've noticed hearing alot of bad remarks on twitter. It really is a shame

OSU recruiting:
Meyer will be finalizing his class this month, these are the names that we are most likely to get.
Meaning we have the best shot at.

OL- Kyle Dodson
OL- Joey O'Conner
LB- Camren Williams
LB- Joseph Jackson
S/LB- Bam Bradley
ATH- Davonte Neal

Also, Camren Williams' teammate Armani Reeves will visit Michigan this weekend, and will likely visit OSU with Williams and Willams' parents on Jan 20. He is currently a PSU cornerback commit, and if he does make the OSU visit, then we should get him. If he doesn't come to OSU in 11 days, then he is likely Michigans man.
