Gallia Academy 34 Portsmouth 7

Post by portsmouth_98 »

Looks to be an early indicator as to who will challenge for an OVC title. Gallia has traditionally dominated this series with a 19-9-1 overall record and have won 13 of the last 16 dating back to 1993.

Portsmouth is playing the best ball I’ve seen in years. Mainly on the defensive side. They only lost by 1 point last year. And Portsmouth’s play calling is a lot better. Last year it was kelly left, kelly middle, kelly right, punt. This year a lot has changed. O line can block all game and let Parker and McCoy run I’ll take us. We have to keep Gallia off the field. Waverly torched us passing the ball. I think that’s our weakness. If we defend the pass we win no problem. They have to win this game to start thinking of week 11. Rock hill will be the easiest game the next 3 weeks. Gallia is tough and coal grove is about the same. I think we pull it off. And have seen a ton of improvement.

Portsmouth has one player. If Gallia can stop him they win the game, If they let him get off for 200+ yards they lose.

I’m going to take Gallia considering how well they played against Jackson.

This one will be a very good game, speed edge probably goes to the Trojans and coaching and physicality edge probably goes to Gallia, so over the course four quarters of football give me Gallia. But Trojans at home?? Nah, nvm I will still take GA.

Interesting game. Gallia disciplined defense so it won’t be easy for Parker....but Gallia maybe hasn’t seen the athlete he is.

I’ll call a 20-13 game

Hey 92, that quote from years ago really took me by surprise , I can't respond to it because I wouldn't know where to start, the poster must of been off his meds or on to many....lol.... looking at last week's blue devil score you would figure we played a descent game... I was at the game and came away scratching my head, we have so many areas that need improvement.. had to wonder about some of the play calling, maybe we were being conservative and wanted to limit certain players not getting injured. Pass defense is a mess and sometime we forget how to tackle, special teams need improved, or maybe this is all the result from a tough loss last week. Need to get our passing game going again.. we definitely won't beat Ironton playing like this,

Overall game I think Gallia outplayed Jackson. It was a tough game and hate to see rivalry end.

So I think this will be the most physical game the blue devils play all year. The blue devils started it last year and Portsmouth matched them physical blow for physical blow. I expect nothing less this time. The blue devil defense most be much more disciplined this week then a against Chesapeake. Against Chesapeake when a play fell apart for Chesapeake was almost better then there regular offense the devils lost back side contain and allowed huge plays. If there that undisciplined Portsmouth will score a lot.

The defense I think has gotten a little better every week but still have a long way to go.

This team is 3-1 and offensively still has no personality I really think they have a great problem. It is the fact they have enough weapons that they are trying to get them all involved. But they don’t seem to be able to get everyone going in the frame work of the offense.

They need to put mccellond in more of a drop back passing game and a more traditional passing game. We have several times that what we needed was just a traditional seem route or a very simple to go routes with a simple crossing route. But we are running some flood the zone bubble or levels route.

Nothaving campbell 100% has effected both sides of ball. I think they need to start playing with the idea they aren’t going to have him 109% all year and perfect what you have.

Gallia by 2-3 scores. They played Jackson very tough and Portsmouth is no where close to Jackson. They will key on Parker (he will be in range of 50-70 yards). From what Ive read weak teams big numbers, average teams shut down a one dementional team Gallia 39 Portsmouth 14 Gallia 4-1

I am going with Portsmouth in a low scoring, hard hitting game.
20-18
