Re: Week 6 Logan (1-4) vs Athens (4-1)
I’d love to hear how the Logan v Chillicothe game played out. Another effort like that and good things could be in store for the Chiefs.

Yeah. With Athens at 9-1 I have Athens at 17.27. Athens playing Warren AND Logan really hurts. Should help next year playing Jackson but that is a push since it was to replace Canal Winchester who is an OCC playoff team.

Athens should win huge but got a feeling Logan won’t lay down for them
Re: Week 6 Logan (1-4) vs Athens (4-1)
Watched Chillicothe play Logan. Logan wasn’t good but refscalled everything back. Athens should handle Logan by at least 14.

Logic says Athens wins easily but logic sucks so I say the Chiefs find a way to get the W!
Championship's are won in the off-season

Re: Week 6 Logan (1-4) vs Athens (4-1)
Last year Athens had 4 times as many yards as Logan and only won 21-3. Probably should have won 50 to 0. The year before that Athens ran 50 more plays than Logan and lost 31-30. Of course it downpoured for that game. That was a bad nightOrange and Brown wrote: ↑Sat Sep 22, 2018 4:08 pm Logic says Athens wins easily but logic sucks so I say the Chiefs find a way to get the W!

So who are Logan’s players to watch?
Athens is Clay Davis at QB. Nate Trainer, Joey Moore, and Logan Maxfield being his targets at WR. Evan Adams has been running the ball well. Athens strength is the big o line and d line.

Re: Week 6 Logan (1-4) vs Athens (4-1)
Missing the input from 93bulldog, 2old, loganlocos, Logan Grad ... I used to do game rundowns for the Purple with napkin stats - similar to basketball ... haven't been to a hs football game in 10 years - have left the game up to the experts here on SEOPs to keep us all informed as to what is going on in Purple Country on the gridiron ...
... has Athens beat Logan AT the new stadium ? if NOT, THAT in itself would be incentive for the Purple to "defend the homeland" ... the last game between the 2 teams here at LHS was a Logan 31-30 W ? ... you have to love the performance of the Purple D vs Chillicothe ! holding the Cavs to 100 yds +/- in total offense for the game ... their deepest penetration was in OT starting on the LHS 25 - from the sounds of the D play on the radio game balls need to go to Ruff "squared", Jacob Black, Garrett Mace, Landon Little - those were the names mentioned on the radio broadcast most often AND it sounded like the Chiefs finally "got physical" - Cavs receivers/ball carriers paid for having the ball in their hands ... it sounded like the Chiefs secondary/linebacker core have decided on having a "punishing identity" ... going to need this group to "do the same" this week vs AHS ... hold the Bulldogs to the "3 and out" ... limiting possession time to that 17-20 minutes again ... punish receivers/ball carriers ...
Offensively? ..Chiefs held the ball for over 30 minutes on the clock by relying on the run, going with the running game with Spatar under center instead of in the shotgun ... didn't result in points on the board vs the Cavs ... looking for the Chiefs to get a mix of the run game and the passing game going this week - just as the deepest penetration for the Cavs was the ball placement in OT at the 25 yd line ... the same was true for the Chiefs ...
Back yard rivalry ... Athens Week ... in the Purple's not so distant history , Logan youngin's were coached up/parented up to be "Chieftains" - the Logan faithful KNOW what "playing like Chieftains" means ... Athens vs Logan meant something on BOTH sides ! - a special week, a great game atmosphere, and historically "a great game" ...
Go Purple !!! ... play like CHIEFTAINS! ... BE CHIEFTAINS !!

Lets get real about this game, the bullpuppies are a better all around team than the Chiefs, But if the Chiefs can play defense like last week and catch a few (a lot of) breaks! The Chiefs might keep it close and MAYBE the football gods MIGHT turn their heads and the Chiefs could pull this one out in the end!
