So a plus one or playoff would help solve that problem, IMHO I believe USC would beat either of those teams.

It would have helped this year, but in 2002 and 2005 it may have been awful.
For instance, had OSU won a bowl in 2002 and then Miami lost, a plus-1 would have forced a 14-0 OSU to play a 2-loss UGA or USC.
A plus-1 would be a bad thing IMO. Rather than that, they should just do a 4-team playoff by seed.

Agree 100%. Use the current BCS System--get them down to 4 team and then play the games a day after the Rose Bowl and then play the rest of the BCS Bowls in between---and then give the teams another week to prepair and boom, that easy.
Re: Comments Re: USC Trojans
I agree with peake but think that the BCS standards need tweaked a little to allow higher ranked teams in the BCS games rather than automatic bids for teams in conferences that have only minimal competition or no highly ranked teams. i.e the Big Easiest. That Orange Bowl was similar to the Browns-Bengals game a few weeks ago. Maybe say that a conference winner is guaranteed a BCS berth if any team in that respected conference is invited to eliminate a champ being snubbed for a second with more fanbase but provided no guaranteed berth and try to utilize the BCS system of rankings to determine who plays in the games.
Re: Comments Re: USC Trojans
Ever since Florida slammed OSU in the Title Game, people have oozed over the prospect of a "sexy" match-up between USC and the SEC Champ. This is the first year that I truly believed that USC deserved to be there - this is the first year since I can remember that I thought their defense was really "That Good" (and it was).
Unfortunately for them, it seemed like for the first time in a while, the pollsters made a big deal out of the fact that they played in a horrible conference (and they did play in an awful conference this year. The PAC 10 was as low as I've ever seen it and that's saying something because I think it's a joke every year).
