They make a lot of mistakes, struggle to consistently move the football without the big play, and Bartrum goes for it on 4th down in his own territory way to much. On defense they are un-sound, undisciplined, and not well coached. Like I said before, they will struggle to win 4 games. Their best chances are against Alexander and Wellston.
Athens wins this 48-14.
Athens may score 48, but there is no way they hold Meigs to only 14 IMO.

I think if Athens wraps up it’s possible. NY had trouble in the first half wrapping up when attempting to tackle, otherwise idk if they score 22

They scored “00” in the second half against NY. And only 22 total. It’s very possible.

And that's the bottom line, b/c Stone Cold said so....

Athens 50 Meigs 35. Not much defense in this game! Athens up tempo offense will have the Marauder defense in a turmoil. Hope to see the boys in maroon pull one off for homecoming but it will be a long shot. Best of luck to both teams and an injury free game.

A muddy field could be a factor across the area

i think it's clear that the former assistant coaches that Bartrum "fired" were the reason they did win in the past. Meig's former assistants are 5-1 at Southern!

But to be real, Southern's first six teams have a combined record of 9-26, and 4 of those wins came from Belpre, 2 to Miller, and 1 each to South Gallia, Portsmouth ND, and Wahama. No slight to them of course, as you can only play the teams on your schedule. But I'm interested to see if the "fired" coaches are still the reason things are so rosy in Racine when they get to Waterford and Trimble.

Anyways, to stay on topic, I think the Marauders were struggling on the defensive side of the ball with the "fired" coaches as well. Giving up boatloads of points and you can see why on Friday nights. Blown coverages, missed assignments, average team tackling, guys not reading any kind of keys or playing technique... You can only hope that the defensive philosophy of scoring 56 and your opponent scoring 49 gets you wins in the big games.

Southern will end up 7-3 @ best but probably 6-4 IMO (gotta have Jimmy's & Joe's not just x's and o's)

I'd agree FANOSPORTS, 7-3, is my guess... Been around it too long to not know the Jimmy's and Joe's saying.. Probably beat Ravenswood, and Eastern. Lose to Waterford and Trimble... Meigs probably 3-7, beat Alexander to finish it off.

Meigs has an early lead 7-0 But it won't last long with no defense.

Athens 21-14 Half, ugly game , lots of turnovers/ penalties so far. (Athens not worthy of playoffs in DIII this year).

Athens 50 -20, Athens goes for 2 pt conversion and gets it. Thats BS on the Athens coaching staffs part. Karma is a _ _ _ _ _ . You want a running clock with 2:00 left ?
