Athens gets what they deserve play in tvc as a division 3. Ive said it b4 ill always say it i hope they never smell the playoffs again. 10 15 20 yrs ago they always thought they were 2 good for the tvc now look at em

From the OHSAA website - Due to a cancellation, Athens High School (The Plains, D-III) in Southeast Ohio is looking for a week 1 game for 2019 and 2020. Athens would prefer to travel in 2019 and host in 2020. If interested, please contact AD John Rogers at [email protected].

DeSales and Toledo Central Catholic are needing a home and home 2019/2020, any takers ?

Crooksville is playing Warren Local week 1 next year. I assume that is who cancelled with Athens.

New Richmond @ #9 will lose 2 more and will be out. See how this Hillsboro game turns out this weekend but as of right now Jackson will have a chance if they play Granville, Bellbrook and Bellefontaine or Athens if those 2 would make it. Eastmoor, DeSales and Sheridan not so much if they would play them 1st round, imo.

IMO Jackson would be 28 points better than Athens this year head to head.

In 2013. Jackson’s coach told Athens they dont deserve film of Jackson. Athens kept in it’s starting defense all 4 quarters and won 49-0. RV joined in 2014 creating week 4 a league game. Jackson didn’t try to keep it going but you can’t blame them

Athens was really good those years .

This is a no-brainer. Athens had someone by the name of Joe Burrow those years (11,12,13 and 14) and he's a DI QB, that's why they made the playoffs those years and he darn near won the state title by himself. The only other year Athens ever made the playoffs was 1990 with Bubba Lichtenburg and DeSales shut'em out in round 1. Both these kids were OU coaches kids that had come to the university to coach and if not for them moving in Athens would have never made the playoffs one time, period.
