Thanks for the info. Didn’t know Mathews was hurt and yes he can fly!! Me and others were talking about why he wasn’t running. He is a threat each time he touches the ballJolly P(irate) wrote: ↑Wed Oct 10, 2018 9:04 amI heard he is finally fully healthy. They are introducing him in the backfield more. He is dangerous at any spot on the field. Good luck catching him. Give him a step and he’s gone.

I don’t know if it has been the same hip problem he was having his freshman and sophomore year, but it seems to be the case.14U wrote: ↑Wed Oct 10, 2018 9:09 amThanks for the info. Re: WK 8: Minford (6-1) @ Wheelersburg (6-1)
He's had a couple nagging injuries that have cleared up finally. He's fast and powerful in his upper body, benches close to 250. A lot going for the youngster, he's an honors student as well.

Re: WK 8: Minford (6-1) @ Wheelersburg (6-1)
He gets double teamed about everytime. In some sort of way. Plus burg has other playmakers so no need him to get beat up but he’s 100% legit Big school D1. I don’t think Matthews is. I see him at an OU type school or EKU. 1Aa14U wrote: ↑Wed Oct 10, 2018 7:30 am Just an outsider looking in. If you say Holden is a D-I why doesn’t he get the ball more? And making big plays. At 6’6 he should be the go to guy with the little Dbacks around here. I watched him twice this year and he doesn’t look the same. He was held in check on both games I watched except the trick play at waverly. He is a great kid and had OSU looking last year but didn’t want no part of it after visiting. I know he wants to go basketball. I know burg spreads the ball around and shares the pigskin a lot. I just liked watching him last year faking players out and going the distance like he should with size and speed. Does teams do anything different to stop him this year?
I believe Holden’s also looking at a basketball scholarship so he may not be asked to do that much as far as running up some statistics.
Re: WK 8: Minford (6-1) @ Wheelersburg (6-1)
Matthews and others benefit just by Holden being on the field because he draws extra defenders nearly every play.

Battle of the 6 - 1 teams but won’t be a battle for long. Burg shows what 6-1 looks like.
Re: WK 8: Minford (6-1) @ Wheelersburg (6-1)
I don’t see anyone in the SOC 2 derailing Wheelersburg YET. And by yet I mean this season. Burg will finish out 9-1

Make no mistake, you don't go to "an OU type of school" unless you are a big-time player. It cracks me up that people around here think of them like it's Rio. Get real dude! How many guys in this area have EVER played at an "OU type of school?" SMH

I want the best for all SE schools, but I’m gonna have to go with the one I think has the best chance to rep us above the 23/270 interchange. So, good luck to both, but MARCH ON BURG. Time to start zoning in on the SOC title, region etc. With some familiar foes up or down a division, if you get out of the region, could be back2back!
Good luck!
Good luck!

More than you think. SMH. There are two coaches that played at “those kind of schools” at minford right now. Two 6-1 teams “go to battle” in the Burg. Any notice a difference between the two?

Burg was the better team all year. Minford having 10 starters out (I think that's the total now) our with injuries make this a really bad matchup. Just heard that Lewis left the game with an injury.
At this rate with the injuries, Minford might struggle to get that 7th win.

A lot of injuries makes it tough. And those left behind then get beat up. Hard to recover from.Bleeding Red wrote: ↑Fri Oct 12, 2018 8:36 pm Burg was the better team all year. I feel bad that those Minford players are injured but IMO it wouldn't have mattered if they were totally healthy still same outcome I'm not knocking Minfords program just Burg on a different level right now but who knows what the future may hold ?
