Gallia Academy 36 Ironton 33
Here's what most of us predicted a few weeks back. Can Gallipolis, since Ironton's gotten smaller over the years start to erase the many years of frustrating losses @ Tanks and Memorial Field?
* Ironton 28 - Gallipolis 21*
* Ironton 28 - Gallipolis 21*

They were looking ahead. The "Fighting Tigers" will bring it together next week, after all it's for a championship.

After playing against both back to back I say Ironton will have to play error free football to win.
Gallipolis defense is the best we faced imo and their O line is big.
If Gallia keeps emotion in check they will pull away in the 2nd half.
Gallipolis 28 Ironton 7 (Even though it is at Ironton)

I think Ironton will win because they work harder at practice and work longer too. Truth. Ironton by 12.

Re: WK #9 GALLIPOLIS (7-1) @ IRONTON (6-2)
I would like to see Ironton play an entire 4 quarters and they must to win this game. I saw them in the Coal Grove love fB live page tonight, and man oh man, VERY SLOPPY PLAY! Again, I’ve only seen the last quarter against burg and this game against grove!
I’ve listened to all other games! So, I would think tonight was an exception to their other form of play and execution.
When, I think the tigers should really control a team, they’ve struggled in most of those games @ some point or for longer periods of time in the game than I expected(russell, FairLand,Hill,Grove,Peale) but managed to pull away and usually convincingly so.
NOT TONITE.
I know the grove game is becoming “somewhat”of a rivalry, so a ton of emotion was evident, the penalties emerged again, mistakes were amassed, & it was like we were back to game one!
On the other hand, when I thought we were in trouble(Ashland, BURg, Russell) the D played extremely well , the mistakes were lower or balanced out by other positives, and we played extremely competitively!
With Gallon, the tigers must come together and have the game of the year. They need to establish they can do this mentally and physically, so they start playing consistently each game, & know they can win the conference and make a run in the playoffs.
All of this is possible. The tigers and coaches just gotta initiate this starting Monday or sooner and stick with it.
Gallon is good and balanced & I feel we’ve faced this already and fared well!
We could easily be 7-1.
So, if the tigers can do this, They will have overachieved, and delivered as a team, as coaches, as players, and as a community!!
Gotigersgo!!

Re: WK #9 GALLIPOLIS (7-1) @ IRONTON (6-2)
sounds like last night was a barnburner. I knew this was gonna be a close one. what a way to listen only to a game, arghhhhhhhhhh. I miss being there so much. pappy bait n my bro in law were there. set's up this huge game vs. gahs and the blue devils. ironton is currently number 3 in d5 reg. 19 and standing at 6-2. and the blue devils are number 3 as well in d4 region 15 and setting at 7-1. the blue devils lone loss was to Jackson and ironton's 2 losses have came to Ashland and wheelersburg. this will be for the league crown, and everybody could see this one shaping up this way. I must have written it down wrong on my calendar. I was thinkin it was in the French city. sounds like it was a great game to watch with the tigers n hornets. wished I could have been there. sounds like emotions were very high. which is to be expected when 2 cities border each other. good luck to coal grove moving forward, and sounds like a great effort by them. and good luck to the fighting tigers Friday as they vie for the league crown against the blue boys from Gallia county. this has to be a game of the week showdown.
IN THE LONG GRASS BY THE WATER, SO WATCH YOUR STEP. AND LET'S GO IRONTON FIGHTING TIGERS, OHIO STATE BUCKEYES AND THE CINCINNATI BENGALS

Gallia academy is also a lot smaller let’s not act like the blue devils enrollment has not shrunken a ton
Re: WK #9 GALLIPOLIS (7-1) @ IRONTON (6-2)
A throwback to the SEOAL. I give a nod to the Tigers playing at home but, like the Hornets showed last night, anything can happen.
Once a Tiger, always a Tiger.

The Fighting Tigers Pass Defense better step it up or it will be a long night. The Blue Devils can throw the ball well, along with running the ball.
Re: WK #9 GALLIPOLIS (7-1) @ IRONTON (6-2)
First thing first not going to talk about the refs this week. Will there be bad calls? Absolutely. Do you need to adapt and overcome? Yep, Gallia has had its share of calls go against them this year and have shrugged it off pretty well. Just last night against rock hill we had 3 touchdowns called back for holding. Were they holds? Well yes they probably were, but as many of you old timers like me would admit you can call a hold on every play in the modern era of football.
From reading past Ironton game post it looks like they have shot themselves in the foot some on flags. Gallipolis has been somewhat fortunate on avoiding the dead ball fouls this year I hope that can continue. A lot on the line Friday (liked the suggestion to move to Saturday but i doubt that happens).
Eyes wide open who will step up in this big moment. Very excited for this moment for GA, these seniors have been through a lot in their careers, glad they get this chance to play not just for the blue marbles or the red marbles but for all the marbles.

Eyes wide open who will step up in this big moment. Very excited for this moment for GA, these seniors have been through a lot in their careers, glad they get this chance to play not just for the blue marbles or the red marbles but for all the marbles.
Re: WK #9 GALLIPOLIS (7-1) @ IRONTON (6-2)
Cal preps has Gallia 28 Ironton 21 . I think if Ironton can avoid the turnover they will hang tough and possibly win if not it could be a convincing win by the blue devils
