According to Drew Pasteur Portsmouth is gonna have to win out and get some help it looks like to make it. West has a high probablilty of making it at 6-4 but as you stated if they draw Wheelersburg or Madison basketball season will start a little earlier this year for west.greygoose wrote: Sat Oct 13, 2018 7:19 amNah, they'll be lucky to even get it at 6-4. Valley beating a 5-3 Belpre team was big last night, also Trojans coming through against Fairland was another. Like you say even if they make it looking at Burg or Madison in round 1.bleed_blue wrote: Fri Oct 12, 2018 11:10 pmPossibly looking at back to back games against Wheelersburggreygoose wrote: Fri Oct 12, 2018 10:53 pm West is in a ton of trouble, this was a must win game for them. Now they're taking on central Catholic and burg, probably looking at a 6-4 season now and sitting at home week 11.

The way I figure it and I won't guarantee my calculations are correct, but Waverly can host but a lot has to happen. Wyoming, Indian Hill and Clinton-Massie are the top 3 so the only hope we have to host in being the #4 seed.
My math says Waverly can jump London after Week 9 with London playing a one-win team and Waverly playing a seven-win team. London has a D-II Whitehall-Yearling (7-1) team in Week 10. If London loses that game AND Cin. Taft loses to Cin. Aiken in Week 10.
Waverly could host London
Waverly could travel to London
Waverly could travel to Cin. Taft
Waverly could travel to Indian HIll

Count me in on also doubting Waverly. The conventional wisdom of Waverly being soft on the line of scrimmage led me to believe West could pressure the QB and control time of possession to win the game.ItsMyOpinion wrote: Fri Oct 12, 2018 10:20 pm I was wrong on this game. I thought the physicality of West would wear on Waverly and West would win a close game late. That was not the case. Tonight is a perfect example of why you play the games.

#1 Wyoming (8-0) plays #3 Indian Hill (7-1) last game of the yearWHSgrad2000 wrote: Sat Oct 13, 2018 2:42 pm The way I figure it and I won't guarantee my calculations are correct, but Waverly can host but a lot has to happen. #2 Clinton Massie (7-1) play D3 New Richmond (6-2) on the 19th and D3 Wilmington (3-5) on the 26h
#3 Indian Hill (7-1) plays 6-2 Deer Park on the 19th and #1 Wyoming (8-0) on the 26th. Indian Hill lost to #8 Aiken.
#4 London (8-0) plays D2 Whitehall Yearling (7-1) on the 26th
#5 Waverly (7-1) plays D5 Minford (6-2) and D2 Logan (1-7)
#6 Taft plays D3 Woodward on the 19th and #8 Aiken on the 26th.
#7 Batavia plays D3 Goshen (5-3) on the 19th and D2 Western Brown on the 26th
#8 Aiken plays 5-2 Lucas tonight, D3 Hughes on the 20th and #6 Taft on the 26th.
A lot of football to be played in the last two weeks to determine a lot.
Wyoming should win out - beating Indian Hill (that could propel Waverly should the Tigers win out.
Clinton Massie probably wins out but even if they lose to New Richmond I think they stay top 4.
London losing to Whitehall Yearling may be enough for Waverly to jump them.
Taft losing to Woodward and then beating Aiken would be great.
Batavia losing one of their last two would Be nice as well.

That is the region they should be in anyway. There are teams farther west than Waverly in region 15 and teams farther north as well in that region. You need to look into this situation and get Waverly in the region they belong in. The competition in the southeast would be more on Waverly's level and they may be able to win a playoff game from time to time. When Ironton had all those great teams in the 60s, and 70s, they would have had a hard time beating some of these southwest teams.smurray wrote: Sat Oct 13, 2018 8:48 am Tigers must go 9-1 to assure a playoff birth. 8-2 may not get the Tigers in (region 16). They may be playing on the road at 9-1.
Sad thing is, they would sitting at #2 right now in region 15..... and have beaten 2 of the top 8 in that region.

Aiken lost to Lucas tonight and Taft jumped Waverly. Waverly is at 6 now.

Waverly just needs to concentrate on the next two games instead of seeding.smurray wrote: Sat Oct 13, 2018 9:40 pm Aiken lost to Lucas tonight and Taft jumped Waverly. Waverly is at 6 now.
