Opinions? Neither team playing for anything other than bragging rights. Throw out the records and strap it up. VC has to have a lot of confidence coming into this one with a huge win over over NY and 5 in a row over Wellston. As bad as I want a Wellston win I just don’t see it happening, the lack of creativity on Wellstons side to go along with the defense that is struggling lately, I’m going to take VC by a TD or 2.

Having seen both play I will say that talent wise it’s pretty even. However Vinton County is a more fundamentally sound team blocking and tackling. Early in season the Vikings weren’t very good at throwing the ball but these last couple game their coaches made some adjustments and have been pretty effective at it. The Rockets are pretty much one dimensional. They line up in a tight formation and try and pound it. I think they will find that a little tough against a pretty good Vikings run defense who other than a few runs held Nelsonville-York running game in check. Wellston doesn’t have the break away back that the buckeyes have.
I’ll take the Vikings in a close physical game 32- 21

Interestingly enough, if you go back 10 years to the 2008 season the series is 5-5 With Wellston starting a 5-0 streak from 08-12 and now VC has knotted it up with a 5-0 record from 13-17. What does this mean???? nothing, absolutely nothing other than this a very even and fun game to watch every year. Some crazy games have happened especially the 63-60 game at Wellston in 2016. Then last years shoot out that turned into a multiple touchdown win for VC. Will this year be just as fun?
