Madison 26 Portsmouth 0 Round 1 Region 20 2018
Re: Region 20 #7 Portsmouth @ #2 Madison
Portsmouth playing week 11 football, this is a different feeling, it’s been a minute lol. Obviously I’m hoping for the best, I want to see the Trojans advance, I’d be silly to sit here and act like I’m happy with a first round exit. That being said, I’ll be happy win or lose. Going 7-3 making the playoffs is a step up for sure. I figured it would take coach Kalb and his staff 2 or more seasons to get the Trojans turned around. Hopefully it’s only an improvement from here. To this game, I think Madison will be too much for Portsmouth. They will control the los. I’d love to see the Trojans pull it out. Going to take a great game to make that happen. Regardless I’m still excited Portsmouth is back in the playoffs, I’ll be making the trip up to Middletown Saturday night. Go Trojans!

I have watched these young men all year , it's a tall task but no matter what they will leave it all on the field .

Biggest test for Parker going against a good defense if he shows good numbers win or lose this answer everyone's question about will he do good against a good defense. Rooting for Portsmouth to win this too, represent southern ohio

Trojans just need to prepare and play their best football. Don't read the press, don't consider the outsiders, just play the darn game to the best of their ability, take care of the football, don't miss tackles and pressure the qb, Let the chips fall where they will, its 110 % time, leave everything on the field. Go Trojans

I believe the winner of region 20 will win the division 5 state championship, whether it be Burg or Madison. However, I can see Parker keeping this game within a couple big plays in portsmouth's hands. Good luck Trojans!

Yes, you certainly did. I had not seen this at all. I do get on EW quite often. Thanks for posting.

NIce article on 11W about Talyn. The Trojans certainly would not be a playoff team without him.

I couldn't make it when Waverly played the Trojans in the Jamboree game...really wish I would have seen Parker play. I sure remember his Daddy...what a nice player he was and I hear Talyn is better.

I think if the Trojans bring their A Game they can compete. This will be a tough out though, they will most likely be the toughest team we've faced in a few years.

Quick players and penetration is key to stopping the wing T. As for the Dline I would run a lot more option but whatever game plan Kalb comes up with it will be a good one. He knows he has to get Talyn in space.

The only way to beat speed is straight at it. Off guard and tackle should allow him to get moving. 10 yards a pop may turn to 4-5. But that’s fine. Talyn is a tough kid to bring down. And he can bounce it at any time. He may go out and surprise them boys from Madison. I doubt they’ve seen a back like him in a long time.buckeyenation wrote: Tue Oct 30, 2018 4:19 pm Quick players and penetration is key to stopping the wing T. Other than burg I think Madison is the one of the hardest teams in division 5. Portsmouth got a hard draw. But they can do it. Believe, dig deep and play pissed off. No one expected you to be there, now is the time to smack everyone in the mouth. Give all you have for 48 minutes and I promise you that pain will go away when it hits zero the 4th quarter. Play with a attitude. All year you were counted out. You’re heart is the toughest muscle there is. We believe in you portsmouth. All of you kids worked your butt off.

What speed? They don't have speed they have strong kids. Like I said he will have to find a way to get Talyn in space.Jolly P(irate) wrote: Tue Oct 30, 2018 8:22 pmThe only way to beat speed is straight at it.
