So we should expect Meigs to win the TVC and make the playoffs if he is that good.Trump2020 wrote: ↑Mon Oct 22, 2018 12:44 amI agree but, watch Coulter....he may be down the road.thebarlowbandit wrote: ↑Sun Oct 21, 2018 5:36 pm Currently there are zero DI QB’s in the SE District.
Re: Future Division I Quarterbacks in SE Ohio
True D-1 power 5 qb's or any other position players are rare in Southeast Ohio. Joe Burrow was a once in a generation talent. Parker at Portsmouth might be another at RB. Still D-1 encompasses the MAC, CUSA and the FCS schools. Opportunity for kids out of SEO to play D1 is there, especially as coaching, facilities, and training improves in the hinterlands.

Is Clay Davis getting any looks? He’s got next level size and arm strength.

I highly doubt we have any in the area right now. Off the top of my head....
1. Ben mauk
2. Maty mauk
3. Bobby hoying
4. Todd Beckmann
5. Zack dysert
6. Conley From lcc mich st beat osu
7. Kid from coldwater played a Miami of Ohio
8. Betkie from Marion local went to Pitt then transferred to findly
9. Kaizer went to Notre dame
10. Need to confirm how many from Newark Catholic went from the 80s licking county fan
Off the top of my head that’s what I have. Plenty more went for other sports or went for another position but for non d1 high schools that’s what I came up with. Not a long list I know there must be more but it is very hard to go d1 power 5 or not.
Grant Gregory of Athens played at S. Florida and Kansas State.
Joe Burrow from Athens played at Ohio State/LSU
DeShone Kizer from Toledo Central Catholic played at Notre Dame.
Tons of Non-D1 high schools have sent kids to D1 schools to play quarterback. But it IS pretty darn rare in SE Ohio.
DR Robinson, WAVERLY
Swinning, WAVERLY
Roback, Trimble
And the last Waverly QB a few years ago who went to NMSU
Adam Porter, Chillicothe
Just without even thinking about it.
Re: Future Division I Quarterbacks in SE Ohio
I think that SEO gets so few looks is because of their showing in the playoff. The talent is there at all positions but SEO won't get too many scouts coming until the play offs starts getting stronger. Good teams in SEO have a few outstanding players on teams where other area team have more. With that happening the SEO area gets less looks.
GO LOGAN..The anti-Christ is among us

Need to get his final season stats. The run (scramble) for a first down against Logan was his breakout run of the year..
Re: Future Division I Quarterbacks in SE Ohio
I think the biggest problem with SEO football is the lack of exposure. I found that there is a recently started page on Twitter that deals with highlighting athletes from Southeast Ohio and promoting their hudl pages, stats, video clips of them playing, and puts it out there for everyone to see. I saw where one of their kids had 1,500 more followers a few weeks after they started promoting them. Is it all from them? probably not. But I think they're doing a great job and will continue to promote some underrated athletes from the area.
The twitter handle is @SEOHSports and his name on Twitter is SE OH Sports- HS Football
Check out all the great athletes he promotes
