From Athens Football Twitter:
Today during our banquet Head Coach Ryan Adams informed the team that this was his last ride. Ryan took over the team in 08. Over a 10year period, he accomplished much more than winning football games! As a mentor to hundreds of former Bulldogs that understand what it’s like to be part of the “brotherhood” and “family” aspects of playing Athens football. Ryan’s team accomplishments are below.

3 regional final appearances

Athens Bulldogs Athletics:
We would like to thank coach Ryan Adams for his 12 years of leadership and guidance to the Athens football program.
While we are excited for the future of the football program, you have made an incredible impact on so many in this community.

Wow.. always respected coach Adams and what he did for the program. Hell of a coach and I imagine he is just as good as a person. Wish him the best of luck in his future.

Not going to turn this into an Athens VS Ny thread, but Adams I believe and I could be very wrong, was 6-5 against NY? I always looked forward to him going against Rusty. Like I said he turned that program into a powerhouse the past couple years.

Yeah since his son was a senior. I’m sure Nathan White will take over.

Re: Ryan Adams Steps Down As Athens Head Coach
Wow. What a run by Coach Adams.
I have a ton of respect for the guy. Took over the program that was in a really bad place and turned it around. Even if he'd never have had guys like Trae and Joe, he turned the green and gold into perennial contenders.
And coaching kids as talented as Joe and Trae presents its own challenges - it's not as simple as throwing the ball out when you're facing (and beating) teams like Steubenville and Akron SVSM. He had the Dogs in position to beat Toledo CC.
And although I've never met him, he always seemed like a class act and a hell of a good guy. Level headed and grounded.
Not to mention he was a two-time SEOAL MVP as a player.
Ryan Adams has the respect of this Chieftain. Glad he was able to leave on his terms and I hope he finds success in whatever is next.

Except the Burrow years!NY BUCK wrote: Sun Nov 18, 2018 3:56 pm Not going to turn this into an Athens VS Ny thread, but Adams I believe and I could be very wrong, was 6-5 against NY?
