My source says that is false.

Re: 2018/19 Jackson Ironmen
We had to scramble to find 22 games. Just actually found the 22nd last week. Jackson and Logan have been home and home for VC the last handful of years. Idk who your source is, but I doubt VC told Jackson they only wanted to play once and then struggle to find enough games. Lol

Yes. The two teams we normally play twice a year out of conference only wanted to play once this year. Basically my original statement.Ironman92 wrote: ↑Wed Nov 21, 2018 10:31 pmDo you know one way or the other though?Dundas wrote: ↑Wed Nov 21, 2018 10:18 pmWe had to scramble to find 22 games. Re: 2018/19 Jackson Ironmen
That is absolutely true. I have personally spoken with Coach Morrow, with full disclosure, this was a couple of years ago, at the time when we were making runs at regionals, he stated that the game was not go for them. If you think about it, at the time it wasn't. The last four contest are, with the exception of last year, Vikings' sound victories:
2015-2016 H 66-44 and @ Jackson 72-38
2016-2017 H 90-60
2017-2018 H Jackson 59-56
That is quite a difference, 22 points a game. And at the time, if you are a young coach, trying to build a program, why do you schedule two losses of 20 plus points? However, with the talent he has now, he may be regretting that decision.

You’re right. VC was scared to play Jackson in basketball twice in one season so we scrambled around and found a team from Columbus to play instead. You got us.

Re: 2018/19 Jackson Ironmen
Your missing a game in 2016/2017 at Jackson where a young Ironmen squad took the regional champs to the limit maybe losing by 3. They only played 1 time last year so I find it hard to believe they were supposed to play twice this season and Jackson backed out. It’s definitely been a while since Jackson will be favored over VC and will be a huge win for the Ironmen program if they can pull it offhawkeyepierce wrote: ↑Wed Nov 21, 2018 10:44 pmThat is absolutely true. But only played once last year and that was all that was scheduled last year....why was it so hard to find 1 game with well over a year to do it?Dundas wrote: ↑Wed Nov 21, 2018 10:37 pmYes. At no point was Jackson and VC supposed to play 2x in 2018-2019
Re: 2018/19 Jackson Ironmen
So let me get this straight, the schedule came out and coach Morrow saw his team played VC twice , freaked out and cancelled 1 game thus leaving VC scrambling at the last minute to find a 22nd game. not sure about all this
Re: 2018/19 Jackson Ironmen
You’re right. I thought we had played twice up until last season. I’m a year behind. Lol still would like to see a home and home between the two.

Re: 2018/19 Jackson Ironmen
I thought that there was a second game, but I couldn't find my record of it. However, the point is, it was Jackson, I can assure you by more than 100%, that it was Jackson, same as with Logan, that discontinued the second game. It was after the 2015-2016 season, that Coach Morrow and Athletic Director, at the time, Bob Kight, discontinued the second game. Therefore, no second game was scheduled from to 2017-2018 and on. As I believe that there is no second game, next season. Like I said earlier, if you are a young coach, trying to build a program, why, at that time, scheduled those games? I know this to be true, because we are all friends with Max, and Bob's son is in his sixth or seventh season of being on our bench. We have had those conversations.Poo Bear wrote: ↑Thu Nov 22, 2018 6:15 amYour missing a game in 2016/2017 at Jackson where a young Ironmen squad took the regional champs to the limit maybe losing by 3. Now, moving forward, I would like to see the second game also. However, if the powers that be, or parents, whomever, get rid of Max, then I would not care if we ever play again. Just my opinion. Obviously, that is not up to me.

Nobody is going to get rid of coach morrow . That is just silly. He’s been coaching here for what 4 years now and has gone from rock bottom to one of the top teams in the area. I’ve been around the program and hear the rumor mill whispers and never have I heard of any secret attempt by parents to out coach. That’s just silly. The best kids will play the most minutes , this isn’t REC league. Jackson wants to make some convo runs like VC has. There may have been some things in the past with parents running coaches off but I haven’t seen it. Jackson has hands down one of the best ADs in the state. Parents Players and Coaches will act accordingly or they won’t be around.hawkeyepierce wrote: ↑Thu Nov 22, 2018 1:07 pmI thought that there was a second game, but I couldn't find my record of it.
