Ater did play for Norm at Chesapeake! Believe he graduated in 1998 maybe 1999. He was on the teams that had a string of 50+ home wins in a row and like 12 or 13 (maybe more) OVC championships in a row. Coach Persin has always been able to control the tempo, it didn’t matter if he was stacked with talent or just had 2-3 good players. He’s a great coach and gets the best out of his kids.

Hats off to burg. Helluva team. Would like to know the teams field goal percentage for the game. Oak hill got in a hole early and don’t have the shooting to get themselves out of it. Hammond with 32 and Darby 20 for oak hill.

So 52 of the 57 points were scored by 2 players??? That's a problem, you can beat the average teams and even decent ones on a good night but 2 guys will not carry you once you come up against teams like Burg.

Did not go to the game, but listened to a big part of it on the radio. Sounded as if the Burg was totally dominate for most of the game. If Burg is as good as it sounded from the guys doing the game on the radio, I doubt very much that anyone in the SOC-2 is going to beat them.

I took this game in just for the fact that my Tigers have Burg Saturday. OH dug a hole early and could not control tempo. May be the fastest Burg team they have had . Multiple scorers with Holden leading the way. OH will win a bunch of games just outmanned in this one. Best of luck to both teams.

Tried to tell ya'll that Wheelersburg is far and away the most talented team in the SOC II, but Waverly supporters tried to argue that they have just as legit of a shot at the SOC title as Burg does..... which they simply do not.

Wheelersburg has the best player in the league and the only D1 player in the league.... surrounded by MULTIPLE athletes who many have went to back to back state football tournaments. They're going to drastically out match each opponent in the league so it's upto a coaching staff to devise some type of plan to hopefully throw them off. I thought Norm was that coach, but I was wrong.

Well lets just give the burg the soc title and not make them play any games. Lets move on to tournaments again so Waverly can make their run to a district finals just like last year. Maybe burg will beat them by 20. But Waverly beat them at home last year and was up on them at wheelersburg when the Marquez kid went out with an injury. They have some kids who guarded Holden last year and did all right. By the way I believe Blevins could play division 1 and their might be a couple others who are getting looks.

Yeah, I have never seen other SOC team's kids show any emotion. They play with the upmost respect and sportsmanship.

It's only magnified 1000 percent because it's burg.

They are 16-18 year old kids. Who cares if they get emotional? Oak hill played a dirty game last night. I mean the Darby kid flat knocked Truitt kid straight in the nose, probably broke it and you don't think that kids aren't going to respond to that? Norm Persin about ate Ater's head off in the 3rd QTR. SMH.Yet at the end, both teams shook hands and it was over.
