I'm taking Michigan in this one. They are getting better but they are limited in what they can do right now because of the type of talent RR recruited and his total lack of interest in defensive talent.

Martin records a safety, by tackling by the facemask!

Convenient no call there!

Purdue would be a great candidate for C-USA expansion!

Point 1- Purdue sucks. Knew it coming in.

Point 2- Glad to see Michigan play power football and just run the football. I knew if they could just line it up and get out with a win and not have to do much more then run it then this would be a good sign.

Point 3- Michigan now has the #1 scoring defense in the country. By no means is this a great D, but they are improved.

Point 4-What it all means. Michigan is still average on offense and there defense is improved and keeping them in games. Purdue sucks and we didn't learn much here. Michigan is undefeated at home with two more home games left (Nebraska and Ohio State).

I said at the beginning of the season that we would be 8-4, and I still believe that. I feel we split the next two on the road at Iowa and Illinois, and we split at home against Nebraska and Ohio State. If this happens we are 9-3. I still think the Big Ten is not very good. A bunch of average to slightly above average teams. Michigan has enough talent to win them all the rest of the way or lose them all. We shall see.

That's a fair assessment.

We both had UM at 8-4 preseason.
I had them at 8-2 going into the final 2 home games.

I think defensively they are improved, but them being the #1 scoring defense is great evidence for stats being misleading and manipulative.

I don't know how you can manipulate turnovers. Like I said Michigan is not a great defense, but they DO create turnovers and turn them into points. You may drive it up and down the field on them, but there is a good chance they will make you turn it over (not to mention #1 red-zone D in the conference).

Considering they have played a bunch of offenses that have proven over the course of the year that they are prone to turn it over against teams not named Michigan, the turnover stat is easily argued against.
