Back to the drawing board for Warren football.
Warren is now back searching for a new head coach. They've had 3 in the past 5 years. Coach Day is leaving (understandably) to go coach back from where he is from. To be head coach at his Alma Mater Div 2 Seton Hill University. He did get the Warren program going in the right direction. I hate it for the kids but I understand him taking this opportunity. Good luck coach.
I hope they find another young enthusiastic coach to take his place. They have a lot of experience coming back. Played a lot of sophomores and freshman this past year.

Why is this such a lift? Clearly Warren has athletes.
May you live in interesting times- ancient Chinese curse

Welsh would be crazy to take it. Warren goes into the ECOL after next season. Who do they beat in that league. Five loses every year. He has a good thing going helping at Fort Frye!

Re: Coach Day leaves Warren
I sea absoultely no reason why Warren cant be very competitive in that league even in football.
Kick his ASS, SeaBass!
Re: Coach Day leaves Warren
Warren cannot routinely be competitive in the ECOL. Warren does not have a tennis team. Warren's best run in Basketball to the final four had to have a put back buzzer beater to beat a New Philly team to get there, and that was our very best!!!
Re: Coach Day leaves Warren
Until there is a HUGE turnaround in football, there is no way they will compete. Other sports they will.

A lot of other teams in SEO don't even have this.

Re: Coach Day leaves Warren
Having coached at Warren for 16 years, I have nothing but Love, Honor, and Respect for all of the Warren teachers, Coaches, alumni, and tremendous fans in a great community. Every time I walk through the door I am greeted with smiles, hugs, and great respect. I have memories that I will cherish forever.
I met Coach day and know he had a great influence on the kids and families during his short time. I wish him and his family the very best. He came to a community and had a loving, caring, hard work ethics approach towards everything he did. These type of men are not common.
Marietta has won 1 football game in the ECOL and their average margin of defeat is over 32 points a game with most of the games having a running clock. I believe this is 7 seasons of football. JV games are routinely cancelled and not played as ECOL teams do not wish to come to Marietta to play JV games. Coach Schob works year round and has done everything he can do to build the Tiger program. Let's just say......ECOL football is a very large mountain to climb.
In the past 12 months, Meadowbrook, Coshocton, and Riverview have left for the MVL. Zanesville was voted down by the MVL and I believe Cambridge has applied to the MVL. Warren and Marietta have applied and were voted down by the TVC. Warren and Marietta are in the South east District, Cambridge, Dover, and New Philly are in the East District, and Zanesville floats between the Central and East Districts.
Time will tell the story as to how this goes. In the meantime, best of luck to the Warriors, their proud community, and all the good people as they once again have to find a football coach to lead the program.
