I agree 100%. I wouldn’t want my kid playing for a losing program
Why not hope that your kid could help turn the program around? That's the way it should be!
That's wishful thinking, but some programs are beyond help. Does anyone think the kids who played at Northwest or South Point think fondly of their playing days? "Hey guys, remember when we went 0-10 and lost every game by 30 points? Those were some good times...."

Ironton did recruit, especially in the 90's, I was actively recruited by them. They still recruit, their current QB was recruited thanks to a former judge.

I always heard the stories. Had factory jobs lined up and housing for your parents these guys had the Catholics complaining and they could back it up hands down the best SEOPS program back in the 70s 80s 90s. Ironton was the most feared team around. The things they pulled make burg and Jackson look like angels.

They definitely had great football teams. I don't know if they made anyone look like angels though. Lol

First off the QB at Ironton was told by Wheelersburg HC coach that he would not be the starting QB and he decided to leave. Bottom line!

True
That doesnt mean ironton didn’t ask him to come play for them. But who cares? Burgs QB the past two years was really good at that position. He probably wouldn’t have beat him out and would’ve played somewhere else until this year when he would have played that position. I’ve heard of big time college QBs play other positions until their senior year so that wouldn’t effect how he was going to perform. He probably saw that he could play QB right away at ironton and chose to go there. Regardless it’s been like two years ago. Burg probably trying to figure out who will QB this year. I wasn’t sure if the upcoming sophomore could do it but watching him in basketball and his aggressive play, I may have different thought. He’s a gamer.

Don't the two QBs have the same last name?

He was recruited, ask the right people. They were on him during his freshman year while he was still playing freshman football. It's fact. They were recruiting him before he was told he wouldn't start as a sophmore. Of course he wouldn't start as a sophomore, they had Trent salyers and a pretty darn good back up in Mack dyer who was district offensive player of the year before I believe.

So much for working hard and earning something. Sadly our society is ok with selling your kid to the highest bidder. Which there is still bidding going on with their QB. Raceland is still in the mix for next year, he's not happy just handing the ball off at ironton.

My thoughts exactly but it’s a great feeling to be needed and wanted!

Apparently he's still salty about Burg football and the Burg community from this interview following his decision to leave:

My bad. I may or may not have trolled them on Yappi. Those Madison and Coldwater people are easily triggered

At least for two seasons. Looks like the Chillicothe game will be replacing the Bishop Hartley game.
