Notre Dame @ Michigan 9/10 8p.m.
Re: Notre Dame @ Michigan 9/10 8p.m.
My evaluation after watching both games.
ND Offensive line:
*Not overly aggressive, you don't see them knocking you off the ball. The center lets a lot of penetration through which will be bad if Mike Martin is over him. Later in the game they started doubling the NG/DT and that helped.
*Not real impressed w/ the left tackle, he gets pushed back a lot on passing situations.
*The RG is a pretty nice OL. He plays low and moves well.
ND D:
*Teo is a stud, no other way around it. Only things that gets him in trouble is they give him so much freedom that he guesses wrong sometimes, but he is really good.
*Flemming is also a very solid LB. He hits. Not great in coverage but likes to knock your head off.
*Ethan Johnson, he is a kid imo who never lived up to his hype. He is a nice athlete and gets off the ball well, but jesus he doesn't tackle very well at the point of attack. He will imo have some success with Huyge, but I saw him flip over to the WDE a few times and Taylor Lewan imo will lay him out. I saw BJ get through two sacks JOhnson should have had by simply just stepping up in the pocket, he has to be stronger and tackle better against Denard.
*Blanton is pretty solid at corner. Reminds me of a stronger Donavon Warren. HE is not going to help or hurt you a lot.
*#22 is a player. Kid will smack the p*ss out of you, just not a great cover guy. Reminds me of the good S they had back there a few years back. Same type of player.
*THe more I watch the more I like #80, darn he is really nice.
IMO Notre Dame will have to play no turnover football to beat Michigan the more I watch. I think they can beat Michigan, but the more I watch them the more I see quick drives that lead to either TD's, TO's, or punts. I think ND will have to slow the tempo down imo on O, if they don't they are going to leave way too much time for the UM O. I thought ND did a nice job containing BJ, but make no mistake BJ is about 1/4 of the athlete Denard is. I wasn't very impressed with SFU's OL either, ND will have to get a better push up front.
Offense
*QUick passing game seemed to work very well. Quick drop back and get rid of it worked the best for them.
*BEst thing for Michigan to do imo is let Floyd catch it in front of you and make him beat you with his legs. He is not a burner and doesn't shake lose very easy from defenders, he gets you in redzone opportunities where they just toss it up to him or if he gets you in 1-on-1 deep.
*Wood is a nice runner, does a nice job on the cut back and counter. He has good vision and has good but not great speed. They can hurt UM with the counter, which hurt them once against WMU, but corrected it later.
*Riddick is a nice compliment to FLoyd, he runs hard crisp routes.
*Grey should be a FB, not very impressed with him outside of blocking.
*WR's block pretty well downfield.
*THis is a dink and dunk offense, I don't see anyone who is a true burnner on this team. Wood is a nice athlete and shifty but not a take it to the house type of RB.
*Both QB's like to throw it into congested area's, and they sometimes trust their WR's are good enough to take it away if it is a bad throw (which most of the time they are), but it also gets them in trouble.
*Like to get TE (who is very good) and RB's against LB's in the passing game, which works really well.
Yep charge just like OU, Marshall and Navy right

I'm pulling for the UM. The better their record, the sweeter victory is for the Buckeyes at the end of the year

Good luck against St. Ann school of the blind after Toledo, sorry was Capital or Wooster not available to play this week?
Anyways, to be honest I don't know what is going to happen this week. Obviously according to OSU fans we should just cancel our season because we are that bad.
Bauserman is actually only 25 yrs old.
There are no posts on this site where a Buckeye fan acted like we "just beat the Cowboys". All of the posts I read stated that Akron was terrible.
Please, facts only!

Um, might want to check reality, you just played a horrible team right off the bat.peake wrote:I guess not Dubs, sorry we can't go play the 1-11 Akron Zips right off the bat and then act like we just beat the Cowboys. Talk about fans overhyping their teams, both teams involved in this game are about 2 degrees higher than crap! The winner of this game will have an inside track to 8 wins!

Jeez, it's like rooting for Hitler or Stalin. Can both teams lose? Here's praying for a thunderstorm to shorten it!

Actually, WMU should contend for the MAC title. Akron, on the other hand, might be able to match their win total from last year with a little luck and could, with a LOT of luck and a lot of breaks going their way, double their win total from the previous year. I don't know, I may have watched a different game than you experts last Saturday but I saw a different Michigan team than you did. I think they beat ND by 10 pts. OSU-Akron was like watching Ironton HS play a French 5th grade team. And you won't be able to learn anything from OSU-Toledo other than, for the last 5 years, the Buckeyes are the Kings of the MAC. But, I could be wrong.

Like I have always said, this is and has been a good college board until buckeye fans ruin it. It really is very sad.
I guess no of us should root for our team unless we are a top 10 program. I mean us real fans that root for our teams despite the fact a lot of fans jump off the wagon when their teams struggle, and here we are, still being true fans.
DUbs, then please tell your all mighty school if these teams are so bad to stop scheduling them every other game.
Maybe you didn't watch the game last year, but Denard beat ND threw the air. 2 td's and 250 yards while completing 70% of his passes. Oh, no, that's right, you wouldn't know anything about QB's who struggle through the air for two years then win a heisman (cough Troy Smith).
No one is overhyping our team. I watched buckeye posters come over onto a Michigan thread and bark about how bad Michigan still is. Not a single UM fan said a word about your huge victory over the powerhouse Akron Zips. I read all the posts about how great the Buckeyes will be based on their epic performance over a glorified high school team. So please stop with the bs. You have become a really p*ss poor poster who has fallen into the adds nothing of substance group.
Good for you and the rest of your buddies on here who think OSU is the greatest. You would think your latest reality check would have humbled you, but no it just made you all even bigger butts then you already were.
and bleeding red, go back to your conspiracy theories because you have yet o add a single post worth the pile of poo known as your opinion.
Why don't one of you actually add something to this site or to this actual thread.

I, for one, am not overhyping the Buckeyes. After the first game, they are what they are. Play out the season and we'll talk then. But as for us Buckeye fans....
We don't give a d@mn for the whole state of Michigan....
and we don't apologize.

That is the first thing we do not see eye to eye on.
I go up to Michigan 4-5 times each spring to catch smallmouth at Lake St Clair. I love the place. But the further you go west towards Ann Arbor, there is a very strong stench in the air.........!!!!!

I don't expect u to apologize either. Believe me I wish columbus would just fall into the earth, but at least I have the respect to act like an adult and actually add something worth reading in posts not pertaining to my team.
I don't know how many times I have been asked to stay on michigan threads, I think some need to practice what they preach. When it comes to game threads try adding something w substance.

Very well said Peake!! Typical for WTU fans though!!
I like the way we are finally wrapping up on tackles but the secondary still looks suspect.

Re: Notre Dame @ Michigan 9/10 8p.m.
Up until this post, I haven't mentioned OSU on this thread.
And if you go back, I believe Peake has mentioned OSU more tines on this thread than anyone else!!!
Ask therepublican and Dutchman I don't like ND either, but I haven't been talking about OSU on their threads, or the Michigan ones.
Thing is, just because I don't like your team, doesn't mean I don't watch them, and that I don't have an opinion on your team. Go back to my first post on the thread, I stated that if ND stops the
turnovers and doesn't make dumb penalties, then they are a team that is likely 10 points better than UM. It's that simple! If you have a solid defense, Michigan can't beat you through the air, period! Does ND have that, we'll see.
Nobody said on any OSU thread that Akron was good, or that our win was against a decent team! In fact, most of us included the preface that Akron is bad. What we did post on was that we saw good things out of the team.
You need to remember that we had people posting ignorance on OSU threads about the Akron game was going to be close or that OSU would only score 17-24. So, if people really thought that was what to expect from the offense, then OSU must have been dominate and a great performance!
I don't have any control over the non-conference opponents, and I'd rather see us playing non-MAC teams. But dont bust on OSU doing it, when you've been doing it too. That's the quickest way to get "non-contributing" comments.
Peake, you can view me however you want, maybe the long offseason has made you forget that I post this way every year! Michigan still sucks!

Re: Notre Dame @ Michigan 9/10 8p.m.
DUB: You are correct, I know you despise ND, but I think you usually offer good insight (as does PEAK) that accomadates my bias approach to any ND thread. But boys, I think we all agree, and this freaking argument pops up so much...cake games are not fun, easy to bash other teams for, but they are strategic when it comes to scheduling. They exist on all schedules..OSU plays bad teams in the beginning, as does Michigan, ND (who usually takes the cupcakes at the mid-end of their season for whatever reason?), and every other team in the USA does too. Oregon St. took theirs on the chin last weekend vs. San Antonio St. and are the laughing stock of it now, that is the pure beauty because eventually someone will get knocked off their horse and we can take shots all day, just like MU and App St. I am sure OSU will get theirs too one day..they almost got it against Marshall a few years back, it took a Nuge field goal with no time left. ND had theirs vs. UConn, Navy, Syracuse..etc over the past few years. Fact is, it's smart. get the jitters out early. I think if ND would have played Ohio U. their first game, got the QB thing figured out, avoided a fast B.J. Daniels for their first game, ND would have smacked USF if they were the second game of the season, and could go into the Michigan game this week with much more confidence. Now, we are going into Michigan scared, not knowing who will produce at QB, and with turnover capabilities coming off a 5 turnover game. If you don't agree with me on that then your crazy...not saying i'm totally correct, but there is smarts to scheduling one or two games you can win upfront. I think ND is a darn good example of that, because now we are running down field with pee running down our legs.
Re: Notre Dame @ Michigan 9/10 8p.m.
based on what evidence? Denard was a first year starter who threw more TD's in his first season as a starter then a former OSU QB known more at first for his feet then his arm. So Troy Smith can improve and be a better QB but Denard can't? HE completed 69.8% of his passes v WMU, I guess that's not good enough.I would focus on DR and the running game, and make them beat them through the air. It won't happen!!!
vs #11 Pass Defense (PSU) Denard threw for 190 yards and a td
vs #21 Pass Defense (MSU) Denard threw for 215 yards and a td
vs #22 Pass Defense (ND) Denard threw for 250 yards and 2 tds
vs #30 Pass Defense (UConn) Denards threw for 186 yards and a td
vs #31 Pass Defense (Wisconsin) Denard threw for 239 yards and 2 tds
What Denard can't help is his defense had more holes in it then tissue paper.
So I guess all of these defense's suck since Denard had good games against them.
This is the point of what I am saying, at least have something to back up your opinion. Yes, in the loss to OSU Denard played bad and was hurt, and even if he had thrown for 3 tds it wouldn't have mattered, because the UM defense was just that bad.
If you think both teams suck why even comment. 1st of all no one here has overhyped anything. Neither team has said a word about how good we can be. Again, after the UM game many of your posters were quick to point out how bad we still are, so in that I am not sure how you are getting anyone is hyping anything.Talk about fans overhyping their teams, both teams involved in this game are about 2 degrees higher than crap! As an adult I expect others to post like adults, but that is probably asking too much.

Ok, can we please take the OSU/Michigan debacle somewhere else? I'll even create the thread for ya! Geeze, this is ND vs. Michigan! C'mon add some insight about the game people, we don't care about how many passing yards DR has, or for frickin sake Troy Wiff!!! Please, Michigan and OSU play later..I'm sure there will be a time for cut throte jabs then.
Anyways, what is the weather report for the game on Saturday in Ann Arbor?

Re: Notre Dame @ Michigan 9/10 8p.m.
Honestly, I don't see it being that close of a game. Robinson is a freak of an athlete and while that doesn't always equal success, it can cause a defense to be centered on one player. Notre Dame didn't impress me last week on either side of the ball so I like UM, in a 35-21 fashion.
