Re: Week 5: OSU vs MSU 10/01
Why put in Bauserman? What purpose does it serve? Now you've destroyed Miller's confidence even further. Between that and the horrible play calling on first and second down, I have lost total respect for their entire coaching staff. And don't give me the talent excuse. The only key players missing from suspensions on offense are Boom Herron, who can't run if the line can't block, and Posey, who is one reciever of about 3-5 that would be playing. For the years 2007, 2008, 2009, and 2010, Ohio State's recruiting classes rank at an average of 13th on ESPN. You're telling me that the 13th best recruiting classes of the last 4 years can't muster 100 yards of offense?

I agree,Miller stinking it up but why take him out??This offense is even worse than the Bellisari days, never thought I would see that,,Line getting manhandled today to make matters worse

Re: Week 5: OSU vs MSU 10/01
In a pre-season thread I predicted a 7-5 season for the Sucks.
Is it to late to change my vote to 4-8 ??

Re: Week 5: OSU vs MSU 10/01
Ohio State needs to go to a Shot Gun Offense all the time. Giving their linemen shotguns maybe they can block the defense. Also it would help the WR's to get open and since the QB's throws a lot of ducks shot guns would help. Also helps to get calls from the refs since they would not want to make them mad.
Re: Week 5: OSU vs MSU 10/01
Shotgun only for the rest of the year. Shuck the I formation to have any hope for a non-losing season.

Re: Week 5: OSU vs MSU 10/01
With 10 seconds to go, we finally got some offense going and got what experts are calling a "Touch-Down". I believe that it is generally a good thing to have in this game and getting these increases your teams chances of a "win"
In all seriousness, the Buckeyes played very poor today. Disappointing season so far, and I don't see it getting much better. The offensive line couldn't stop the D-line of the Spartans and bad line play usually results in a loss. And that is the case here. Anyone else miss Tressel and Pryor as much as I do?

Like I said over and over in previous threads, BRAXTON MILLER is not ready yet!

Because Miller wasn't going to give them any chance of winning. Miller's confidence would have been destroyed tomorrow when he watched the game film any way. QB, O-Line and WRs all sucked today. Might as well try Guyton at QB. Miller can't throw a pass that doesn't look like a wounded duck.

I am in complete agreement with you.newarkcatholicfan wrote:It all starts up front and every member off the offensive line who got in the game should be embarrassed by their performance today or there lack of.
The wide receivers are as horrible as any who have ever donned a Ohio State uniform.
Miller looks lost even when running the ball. How many times has he ran into his own guy when he has a chance to make positive yards.
Play calling by Fickle, or who ever is calling the plays is as bad as I have ever seen at this level.
Its hard to run out of the pocket when your OWN linemen getting knocked into you. Some plays Miller didnt even have time to hand the ball off.
Putting Bauserman back in the game just created more drama and dismantled ANY identity our offense has.
2 things have to happen:
1.) Bollman has to go. Offensive line was a J-O-K-E. Missed blocks, false starts, holding, etc. It will never end. Play calling was pathetic at best.
2.) Administration needs to get the feelers out there for a REAL coach. Fickell is not the man for the job. We DO have athletes on the field at OSU, I dont buy the fact that we dont. The defense is not even good. Fickell is a very good defensive coordinator, but he cannot handle the team.
MSU is not that good. OSU is just playing that bad. I am glad OSU was not foolish enough to sign Fickell to contract that extends past this year.
Re: Week 5: OSU vs MSU 10/01
He would have given them just as much of a chance of winning as Bauserman. That was the second start of his career. The coaches have to let him learn from his mistakes, and he is going to make them. Bauserman's career as a football player is all but over, he has no upside, he is as good as he is ever going to get. Miller has a TON of upside. With some BLOCKING, and some COACHING, he will be fine. But when you take him out in the 4th quarter after telling the media that "he's our guy", that totally destroys his confidence, and now you have the other offensive players confused also. Their coaches have totally mismangaged this quarterback situation and I think their idiocy has had a direct impact on the struggles of their offense. By taking him out, you rob him of another learning experience: trying to manage the offense late in the game when you're losing. If now is not the time to let him learn that, then when is the time?Charge wrote:gymrat88 wrote:Why put in Bauserman? What purpose does it serve? And Bauserman couldn't throw one in ocean standing on the shoreline. I'm sure he would throw it 15 yards to high and long.
Like you said, maybe give Kenny Guyton a chance. He couldn't do any worse.

I do hope that OSU could keep him on as the DC. That might be tough after having even one year at the helm. Good chance he would go to a smaller school as the head coach.Burg_Grad_77 wrote:I agree Bleeding Red. I honestly think he is one and done at Ohio State. One thing for certain, Bollman should be fired. Tomorrow wouldnt be soon enough for it either!

I'll buck (no pun intended) the trend here a little bit. The Buckeyes are a young team. Some coaching candidate has to be licking his chops to get a crack at this job. They'll be alright in the long run.
