2019 Cincinnati Reds
Re: 2019 Cincinnati Reds
My worry is Gray didn't fare well in the band box that is Yankee stadium. Hopefully he doesn't have the same issues at GABP. He was good in Oakland, and away from Yankee Stadium.
Reds still need a #1.

Re: 2019 Cincinnati Reds
The big questions for the Reds right now is who will play center field and who will be the fifth starter? With all the acquisitions this off-season, the starting rotation is pretty much solidified except for that #5. The 5th starter will be battled out in spring training unless the Reds acquire another pitcher. I think it will be a battle between DeSclafani, Mahle, Reed and Romano (my choice would be DeSclafani).
The other question is who will play center field? If I had to guess, I would say that it would probably be Schebler (but we all know about his injury problems). Almost a lock that Puig will be starting in RF. And LF will be between Winker and Kemp (possibly a platoon situation).

Re: 2019 Cincinnati Reds
Referring to catcher JT Realmuto. Possibly the best catcher in the game today, at least on the offensive side. I don't know if this trade would be worth it honestly though. The Reds already have a gold glove winner behind the plate, and he has showed some decent offensive production. He's also a fan favorite.
We'll see what the Reds are willing to give up to acquire him.

Re: 2019 Cincinnati Reds
Gotta believe the outfield will rotate based on who the opposing teams starter is.
Wasn't saying Castillo would be #2, just listing the starters.
Re: 2019 Cincinnati Reds
Although the team hasn’t announced it yet, rumors are they have agreed to a deal with relief pitcher Zach Duke. If this is true, he will take a spot in the bullpen from a young guy, he had a solid season last year though. I think the Reds have at least 1 maybe 2 more moves left. I think they are real players for JT Realmuto (I don’t care for trading for him, I like Tucker) also could see them bring in a CF (I however think Nick Senzel wins the job). Could see another starting pitcher being acquired as well. Should be an interesting next few weeks.

Re: 2019 Cincinnati Reds
Although I do not think Puig and Kemp will be with the Reds past the trade deadline, I am encouraged the Cincy front office has made the effort to improve the lineup, especially pitching. Will it be enough to get the Reds above a .500 finish, only time will tell, but spring training should be interesting.

I'm always excited every year for the start of Reds baseball, but this especially to see what the product looks like that the front office has produced.
