McClain at Piketon 2/12
McClain at Piketon 2/12
The Red Streaks host the Tigers at The Oven. Could someone post the Tigers roster, including grade and height? I would appreciate it.
Re: McClain at Piketon 2/12
McClain will struggle playing at Piketon. Tough environment and not sure how much desire they’ll have to win this non league game. Blanton should get alot (maybe 22-25) and McClain might have trouble with pressure from Piketon. Piketon 59-51. Piketon needs this for seeding.

After tournament draw, so it doesn’t matter for anything but momentum.Ed Ott wrote: Mon Feb 04, 2019 10:56 am McClain will struggle playing at Piketon. Penwell being in foul trouble really hurt McClain at Unioto on Saturday. I think Piketon can win the game, but they have to really hit the glass and stop McClain’s dribble penetration, which I think they can do.
I don’t have a full roster for McClain since I didn’t pick up a program from the ZT preview this year, but I can tell you this much, Blake Badgley is a 6’0 Freshman off the bench and here are the starters (they only played 6 on Saturday)
10 Kobe Penwell 5’8 Sr
12 Ethan Cockrell 5’8 Sr
13 Garrison Banks 6’1 Jr
14 Devon Carter 6’4 Sr
22 Dalton Mischal 6’4 Jr

Re: McClain at Piketon 2/12
I think this is a close game. Piketon has actually been playing well. I think they’re like 7-1 or 8-1 their last several games. Not sure who to pick in this one but I think it’s Close. I’ll go
McClain 54
Piketon 49
McClain 54
Piketon 49
Re: McClain at Piketon 2/12
I wouldn’t be surprised by this outcome. They are definitely playing better at the right time. Are you predicting a higher scoring game or lower in this one?
Re: McClain at Piketon 2/12
From the outside they sure seem to be
What happened vs Manchester? Manchester has just lost to Portsmouth East by a decent bit. I thought Piketon would win by 20. Was it at Manchester? (And I understand I watched my Jackson kids take Burg to OT then get handled at Hillsboro....teenage kids are hard to predict sometimes)
McClain not trending well. They are a good team. Penwell lightning quick...2 big 6’4 kids who can play. Banks can shoot. McClain should win but will be tough on the road.
Re: McClain at Piketon 2/12
Manchester was typical hard nosed shl team
Had a couple of players
Piketon didn’t shoot real well, back to back nights are tough especially on the road
I think McClain game will stay in the 50s

Re: McClain at Piketon 2/12
I agree. The unioto McClain game was played in the 50’s. McClain shot the ball well too and Piketon and unioto have similar defenseshbk1999 wrote: Mon Feb 04, 2019 7:22 pm Manchester was typical hard nosed shl team

It’s tough at Manchester and the back to back is very tough on the road, especially vs a team that probably means nothing to the kidshbk1999 wrote: Mon Feb 04, 2019 7:22 pm Manchester was typical hard nosed shl team

I wonder if Piketon will have any kind of special "Welcome Back!" for Coach Stewart.

Good luck to coach Legg and the Piketon Redstreaks. I'm sure the streaks will be ready for this one.
Re: McClain at Piketon 2/12
Against Manchester the Blanton kid was gutting it out on a bad ankle. He needs to get healthy before the tournament. He probably needs to sit out and rest but that is not his mentality. Tough kid.
Re: McClain at Piketon 2/12
Why would he play on a back to back if his ankle was still bad from the week before? Was his ankle bad when he had 18 on Friday night, including 13 in the 2nd half?Ukfanatic wrote: Tue Feb 05, 2019 10:40 am Against Manchester the Blanton kid was gutting it out on a bad ankle. Re: McClain at Piketon 2/12
Yes it was. He is gutting it out because it is his senior year and he refuses to sit.
