Re: Logan football 2019
Look for baby steps. Don't set expectations to high. New coach new system.
I think it is safe to assume weight room attendance will be up and hopefully coach Eddy can get more kids out to play.

Championship's are won in the off-season

I expect a different team attitude, coaches and players wise. That’s about all you can expect. From what I hear, coach Eddy is laying out a plan and you are either on the train or you are off of it. Once it takes off, there is no trying to get back on.

Re: Logan football 2019
Week 1 - Tri-Valley will still be pretty good in 2019 with a veteran team. (The two teams do not play in 2020; and TV will be in a rebuild mode.)
Re: Logan football 2019
Let's give coach Eddy some time to implement his program! It is close to a total rebuild. Look for major changes in everything!
Re: Logan football 2019
New coach in 19. Then, if he stays true to form, new coach again in 2021.
Steelers - Blue Devils - Eagles
Re: Logan football 2019
Just wondering at this early sage what kind of offence and defense that Coach Eddy will start out with?

Re: Logan football 2019
Something that conforms to his talent level and his players strengths. Hopefully not the "come hell or high water" kinda of coaching we just went through. I just don't want Logan to ever be refereed to as a "Dumpster fire of cluelessness" again. Restore the respect from the area programs.

Re: Logan football 2019
I totaly agree The o & d should be based on our young men's talent level! If that happens we will be able to win 4-5 games in 2019.1987chieftains wrote: ↑Thu Feb 07, 2019 6:38 am Something that conforms to his talent level and his players strengths. I have no doubt that Coach Eddy will have a positive impact on Logan Football. Great hire!

Logan’s defense was really not that bad last year just by the scores that I remember. You played a couple teams close. 5-5 the first year if coach has a good simple offense to get things started. I can’t imagine another 1 2 or 3 win season ever!

Re: Logan football 2019
Logan's defense hasn't been good for a looooong time. They were IMPROVED last year, but a lot of the low scores came after the offense switched to the ball control veer/option game. The offense ate up a lot of clock.allamericanironman wrote: ↑Thu Feb 07, 2019 11:51 am Logan’s defense was really not that bad last year just by the scores that I remember. Schedule is pretty tough again next season (and in to the future). I think you'll see an improvement in the win column, but I also wouldn't expect this team to get back to .500. It will take some time rebuild the culture.
Re: Logan football 2019
I truly think Logan is going to get good fast - just a hunch from what I know.
You have to come up with a new saying though, can't use "Restore Order" or whatever it was, something like that as I remember.

Re: Logan football 2019
If Logan truly wanted a quick turn around they should have made a few more trips down the road to Buchtel. They were really close to snaring that guy, but they gave up too soon. So they got what they got. But if they wanted something similar to a, from 1-9 to 8-2 type turnaround, they missed the boat. Hopefully for them this guy they have, if he's any good, lasts longer than he has at his last few stops.loganlocos wrote: ↑Thu Feb 07, 2019 2:14 pmLogan's defense hasn't been good for a looooong time. Hearing 2nd-3rd hand that there are 4-6 athletes that played other sports last year but did not play football that will be playing this year, is that an accurate reflection from those that are familiar with the program? Two seniors and some sophomores and juniors?

Re: Logan football 2019
Logan needs all the help they can get. For the program to look like it will change it will need in the area of 65 boys coming out. Logan with all their boys need more than the 45/50 boys out. It is a problem the boys are stretch out over the whole county but people are getting tired of hearing that. The program needs a better salesman pitch. Talent in the halls does no good if they are not talked to by other boys or coaches in some form.

Re: Logan football 2019
There was a time when transportation home was handled under Mel Adams tenure. Then Logan still had lots of plants open and guys who worked at the plants would take kids home who lived out in the county area where they lived. This made for a stronger booster club and got guys home who otherwise couldn’t play because of the transportation problem. Union Furnace, Rockbridge, South Bloomingdale, Mt. Pleasant, etc were all covered. But, of course now the school is out of town which removes all walkers and makes the problem more serious. Boosters need to get involved again to address this problem that effects the competitive problem that transportation impacts.

Logan 46 in 10-12 last year and 19 freshmen - so 65 kids if you're counting all 4 grades.noreply66 wrote: ↑Thu Feb 07, 2019 4:08 pm Logan needs all the help they can get. Logan's only had 65 kids a couple of times, and never sustained over 3 or more seasons. Peaked with 66 in 2006 (and had 64 in '07) but dropped below 60 after that.
Numbers are down a little for sure, but nothing drastic. And nothing like when Perry took over the program.
