Thank youTri-StateYouthSports wrote: Sun Feb 10, 2019 3:08 pm I added links to the brackets in the original post.
Guess - gotta win one before you worry about second game. Jump in the Toronto quarter and its very likely that 6, 7, or 8 jump on you immediately and you have a tougher 1st game; as is, you almost guarantee a markedly lower seed in the first game. You have to beat 2 very good teams to get to the District final anyway.Hawks1112 wrote: Sun Feb 10, 2019 4:35 pm Hey Eastern Dspy, tell me why did Shenandoah, jump in Bishop Rosecrans bracket,I don't if I'm missing something here,I would have rather jump in Toronto bracket unless Toronto is better than I give them credit for,I rather go to Toronto then play at Bishop Rosecrans, Toronto may have there hands full with Malvern second time around
And why would the 8&9 seeds choose to go play Hiland if they win?mondayamqb wrote: Sun Feb 10, 2019 6:00 pm My question would be - why did Rosecrans jump in the Hiland half. Using similar logic as you stated., it would make sense to jump in the Toronto quarter to better position themselves for a district final
I’m not 100 % sure but imo Shenandoah is not very goodHawks1112 wrote: Sun Feb 10, 2019 4:35 pm Hey Eastern Dspy, tell me why did Shenandoah, jump in Bishop Rosecrans bracket,I don't if I'm missing something here,I would have rather jump in Toronto bracket unless Toronto is better than I give them credit for,I rather go to Toronto then play at Bishop Rosecrans, Toronto may have there hands full with Malvern second time around
I wondered this as well and actually saw Coach Crane yesterday so I asked what in the heck his reasoning for going in with Hiland was and after hearing his response I GUESS i can understand it somewhat. He told me that nobody passed and nobody actually jumped on anyone, seeds 1-8 each went on the board. He said that he’s playing 3 sophomores and 2 freshmen and thought their best chance at a first round win was the matchup he took. He said that if they win his young guys will get to experience playing Hiland and see the level they need to be at. I know there are high expectations for the current 8/9/10th graders. He mentioned that he thought seeds 1-7 were all very good and there was no guarantee of winning a first rd game no matter where you went with the strength of the district.PVCGuru wrote: Sun Feb 10, 2019 6:53 pmAnd why would the 8&9 seeds choose to go play Hiland if they win?mondayamqb wrote: Sun Feb 10, 2019 6:00 pm My question would be - why did Rosecrans jump in the Hiland half. Some coaches apparently want the season to be over. Give your kids the best chance to get to the district. Simple as that.
