Seriously Reviving The SEOAL
Who would be viable teams to make this happen?
Jackson
GA,
Ironton
Fairland
Athens
Point Pleasant
Oak Hill (if CHS refuses)
Portsmouth
Chillicothe (if OHHS refuses)
Worst travel times would be for Chillicothe, so they'd likely stay in the FAC.
The league would be deep, top to bottom in most sports.
I don't see OHHS joining this league, so maybe the league can work out a nonconference deal with Logan

Re: Seriously Reviving The SEOAL
Why would Jackson or Chilli leave the FAC to play these small schools? Also Athens will never leave the TVC.

The OVC teams are fine with were they are.

Athens likes that "All Sports" trophy in the TVC every year so they're out.Sunoco wrote: Wed Feb 20, 2019 7:21 am Why would Jackson or Chilli leave the FAC to play these small schools? Also Athens will never leave the TVC.

Dang straight! We may share but we will be included in any new league talks! You can take that to the bank skippy!Howard Cosell wrote: Wed Feb 20, 2019 10:35 am I thought some guy on here said hannan had to be included in the SEOAL

Re: Seriously Reviving The SEOAL
With the teams listed above I wouldn't think Hannan would want included. HHS needs to stay on their side of the river. Travel times would be outrageous, and the chance of even a .500 season in footbal would be a rare occasion.hannancoach wrote: Wed Feb 20, 2019 2:02 pmDang straight! Re: Seriously Reviving The SEOAL
Athens would never leave the TVC. They couldn’t win in the SEOAL and reign champs every year in the TVC. That’s a no brainer for them. Agreed to have a “old” SEOAL Logan would have to be in it. Jackson is not going to leave an established league in the FAC. Cool thinking and always fun to think of the what if’s scenario. But in reality we won’t see a reborn SEOAL.

Re: Seriously Reviving The SEOAL
The only schools within the old SEOAL footprint that are looking for a new or better conference affiliation are Logan, Marietta, and Warren. You might see an informal scheduling alliance among those schools but the old SEOAL schools who have moved on are happy with their new circumstances. As to looking across the river to WV, the differences in season dates and playoff systems make that a no go.

Re: Seriously Reviving The SEOAL
I'd be ok with Logan, Etta and Warren as the SEOAL. I know the league functioned with just 3 at times in the past. That could be a starting point, then bring others in as you go.
AT THE RESERVATION
Re: Seriously Reviving The SEOAL
For a new SEOAL you would need 5 large schools and 5 small schools with no crossover. That would have each school having to find six games. Will not find enough schools from Logan into Parkersburg to form a regular league with close to the same size or could compete with each other in most sports. Logan is too large to get into or start another league in SEO. Those days are over with. Logan still needs to be working on starting a new league or hoping to get into another one.

Re: Seriously Reviving The SEOAL
Correct me if I am wrong, but we are getting into the time of year that if changes were to happen, the next few months are when they would happen. When is it that teams generally have to notify their conferences of their intention to leave?
