Huge pick up for both Wheeling Central and Fort Frye
Wheeling Central still needs to fill a game on either 10/11 or 10/25

Good pickup with quite a few traditional playoff teams on the schedule.

Yea picked up 3 playoff teams and Nelsonville York. This is probably toughest schedule ever in school history.FANOSPORTS wrote: ↑Fri Feb 22, 2019 5:32 pm Good pickup with quite a few traditional playoff teams on the schedule.

Re: Fort Frye adds WV State Champs to schedule
Hadn't listened to a Ft. Frye or Waterford football playoff game till this year. The play by play guy on the radio station i streamed over there cracks me up. He reminds me of a slower paced John Madden from years ago. Very methodical, slow paced, a few seconds between calls, gravelly and drawn out voice and unlike Madden, is even toned throughout the whole game and very rarely ever shows excitement on a big play or otherwise. He narrates the game like a teacher in a classroom would teach. I've never heard him before those 4 or 5 games and it's totally different from anyone I've ever heard doing high school games.

Wheeling Central QB is the real deal, Back to Back state titles as a starter. Fort Frye will have their hands full in this one.

Re: Fort Frye adds WV State Champs to schedule
I know Fort Frye returns many quality players, but with a schedule like that, it becomes crucial to fill every hole left by graduation. Losing a 4-year starter at qb and two really excellent linebackers can show up in a hurry against this kind of competition. If they can do that, it will be an interesting season.

Re: Fort Frye adds WV State Champs to schedule
NY will be down again and Waterford will be taking a nose dive back to normal. So, with all that FF returns one would think those would be wins. I can't see Caldwell improving enough to threaten them, and Belpre won't have enough. I don't know much about the rest of their schedule, but those I mentioned don't constitute the "loaded" label.EasternDspy wrote: ↑Fri Feb 22, 2019 3:40 pm Fort Frye will host Wheeling Central in Week 6. The two are closer than you think. Wheeling Central will represent itself well. Still hoping the Cadets pull out the W.burgfella69 wrote: ↑Wed Mar 06, 2019 2:42 pm WV football ain't like Ohio Football. Something different in the water up here

When your D6 and you add 3 playoff teams one which won state and Nelsonville York your schedule is loaded. 9 of 10 teams will be .500 or better. So yea the schedule is loaded.Ground Buck wrote: ↑Wed Mar 06, 2019 2:20 pmNY will be down again and Waterford will be taking a nose dive back to normal. Interesting, pretty sure a top half finisher in the SOC II lost to them last year!!burgfella69 wrote: ↑Wed Mar 06, 2019 2:42 pm WV football ain't like Ohio Football. Something different in the water up here

West lost 52-7 in the first round of the Ohio playoffs, meanwhile only lost by one score to the State Champs in WV? Seems pretty weak to me.formerfcfan wrote: ↑Wed Mar 06, 2019 8:15 pmInteresting, pretty sure a top half finisher in the SOC II lost to them last year!!burgfella69 wrote: ↑Wed Mar 06, 2019 2:42 pm WV football ain't like Ohio Football. Re: Fort Frye adds WV State Champs to schedule
Wv football is overall pretty bad but Wheeling Central is a pretty good team. Wheelersburg was a lot better and had already played Portsmouth West. WC knew nothing about them.burgfella69 wrote: ↑Thu Mar 07, 2019 9:41 amWest lost 52-7 in the first round of the Ohio playoffs, meanwhile only lost by one score to the State Champs in WV?
