They're planning on breaking ground to build an indoor facility that can be used by multiple sports, so a sports complex. Originally it was planned to be by the school then down town, and now hearing because the cost is much cheaper to place it up by the school it's going there. They had planned on breaking ground this spring but the final plans and drawings aren't finished yet. From what I'm hearing it should be REALLY nice and won't centralize around 1 or 2 sports but will benefit each sport.MasterOfNone wrote: ↑Tue Mar 05, 2019 1:20 pmWhat plans does Waverly have in store?toast wrote: ↑Tue Mar 05, 2019 10:12 am Good to hear Piketon is getting some big upgrades. It will benefit their kids, school and community.
Apparently Waverly will be rolling out several significant projects/upgrades in the real near future. Good investments in our communities and children. Exciting times for both Waverly and Piketon.

Wow! That really sounds great. Something very similar to Logan possibly. Give the Waverly administration a lot of credit.
Re: Evan Legg Steps Down From Piketon
I doubt Williams leaves Georgetown after establishing something there that he likes. Ive heard their talent will be down for a couple of years though. On the other hand, he'd have to be intrigued with Piketon's ability to get out of sectionals and districts considering how much easier it is to get out of the Southeast vs. the Southwest. The southwest is a dead end for most teams.

Let’s keep current head coaches out of the discussion.
I’m leaving the Georgetown post above as I doubt we get much traffic from that SW school. But, I’m debating it as well.

Lucas,
I'm not sure there's anything wrong with mentioning current head coaches for jobs as long as posters aren't making things up or creating rumors. I always like hearing why one guy might be interested in another position. Just my two cents.

Understood.
I’m weighing that vs a high school kid reading on here about his coach possibly going to another school.
After banquet season and tournaments then it’s more fair
We can at least wait until then.

Every name mentioned is just pure speculation from fans. I doubt any person that’s mentioned a coach has any concrete evidence of interest in any open jobs. Just pure speculation and guess work.
But..... I get it!
But..... I get it!
Re: Evan Legg Steps Down From Piketon
Of course it is, for the most part that's all things are on here is speculation until an actual announcement is made. The guys mentioned were just piketon players from back in the day so of course they'll be the first guys anyone is going to associate with this job. Especially because some mentioned were very successful players at piketon and found success later on as well. No-one is getting butt hurt over the mention of a coach. I mean heck there's so many coaches names mentioned as possibilities on the football thread the that if we were all that sensitive to it they'd all need taken down. Sheesh, and some if those are coaches at current positions as well. One question I'm curious about that always factors with guys applying is what all does piketon have returning and coming up through the ranks in terms of talent?

Greygoose. I apologize if you can’t wait until Tournaments are over to have your speculations
2 weeks.
I expressed my reasoning on here. I think it’s valid.

Apology accepted, especially since just discussing teams who have been out of it for 2 weeks. I think that's valid especially when there's no-one saying I heard this guy is going nothing more then guys thinking this guy or this guy. Guess we shouldn't discuss any team that's not involved in the tournament, even though those subjects pertain to guys who want to discuss other teams. I think that's valid myselfLucasDavenport wrote: ↑Fri Mar 08, 2019 1:16 pm Greygoose. I apologize if you can’t wait until Tournaments are over to have your speculations

They had 3 juniors this year and SVC website shows the record JV at 16-4 and 18-2 the year before.greygoose wrote: ↑Fri Mar 08, 2019 11:29 amOf course it is, for the most part that's all things are on here is speculation until an actual announcement is made. That wasn’t one of them
Re: Evan Legg Steps Down From Piketon
It’s all good talk and people throwing names out there for conversation, that’s what we do on this site. I didnt see anyone say so and so was taking it or so and so told me this or this coach told me that, etc. etc.. No rumors have been started from what I saw. But I guess we live in that day where someone might get butt hurt over something so we better not say this or that.greygoose wrote: ↑Fri Mar 08, 2019 1:31 pmApology accepted, especially since just discussing teams who have been out of it for 2 weeks. If rumors start flying then deal with it and shut it down if it needs to be. Hard to tell what we can discuss anymore........ JMO.

Pretty strong butthurt it seems from those that can’t just talk about whatever they deem appropriate.

Re: Evan Legg Steps Down From Piketon
I’m not sure why it’s hard to tell
Here’s what I asked:
Please do not use current head coaches in this discussion until tournaments are done.
That’s it.
I think the head coaches in this area should be able to finish their banquets/awards etc without having their name tossed around for another job.
I’m not sure why this is difficult to understand or follow.

I know Luke Walton is under contract with the Lakers, and his season is still going on but it looks like they won’t make the playoffs.... so is it okay to throw his name in the mix??
