Re: 2019 Cincinnati Reds
The Reds made a very interesting signing two days ago. They signed shortstop Jose Iglesias to a minor league contract with an invite to the big league camp. Iglesias was the starting shortstop on a number of good Detroit Tiger teams. They made it clear that Peraza is the starting shortstop, but Iglesias provides some middle infield depth should they elect to bring him to the majors.

Why? The amount of growth he showed last year was fantastic. Great speed on the bases, showed a little power, had a solid batting average, and can play a little defense. What's not to like. And he's still extremely young.

I wasn’t a big Peraza fan myself heading into last season. That being said, I think he had a solid year, showed flashes that he could be really good. He is still young, so hopefully he improves even more this season. I like the Iglesias signing, but stinks all he can really play is SS. I believe he’s played a few games at 2B but just a handful. Derek Dietrich who the Reds also signed can play 1B, 2B, 3B, OF, nice utility man but sadly can’t play SS. Looking at what we have, I’ll say the Reds have 12 pitchers. 5 starters Gray, Wood, Castillo, Roark & DeSclafani. 7 in the pen Iglesias, Garrett, Lorenzen, Duke, Hughes, Hernandez & one of the following Peralta, Romano, Mahle, Stephenson, Finnegan, & Reed. Then of course your position players. C. Barnhart & either Farmer, Joe or Casali, I’ll say Casali. 1B. Votto, 2B. Scooter, SS. Peraza & Iglesias, 3B. Suarez, OF. Kemp, Puig, Winker, Schebler, Senzel. Utility. Dietrich. That’s my 25 man roster prediction, although I’ve read if they keep Senzel in the minors until like May or something they get another year of control with him. That being said if wins the job and he’s the starting CF how can you really keep in down the first 2 months of the season lol. I’ve watched both ST games so far and man I’m ready for the regular season!
Who Dey!

I like how we haven't traded off our prospects and still upgraded

Beyond ready for Opening Day! I’ve been keeping up with Spring Training each day so far (have only been televised twice from what I’ve seen). I am a fan of what I’ve seen thus far! Good win today for the Redlegs

Wheelersburg graduate Andrew Burleson is now the team Doctor for the Cincinnati Reds. He is a orthopedic surgeon for Beacon orthopedics and the Reds doctor. Wow! What a awesome accomplishment. Congrats to Dr. Burleson and the Wheelersburg community.

5 Reds reassigned to the minor league camp, of those, one was a big name, Brandon Finnegan.

He's definitely capable and has the talent to be a #1. He just actually has to show it on the mound.
