DII SE District 2019

Fairfield Union and Waverly defending District Champs!!!

FU below .500 right now but was a 14 win Final Four team last year

Waverly seems strong again as Logan Elm seems off to nice start. Circleville and Unioto are always in the conversation as well.

New Lexington dropped to DIII this year and Sheridan with a lot returning has got off to a very good start as well.

Only one team gets out this year. What are everyone elses thoughts on DII this year

South District:
Waverly- Looks to be set for a nice run

Gallia Academy- sectional champs last year, return a lot of youth.

Jackson -lost the most to graduation of the top teams.

Warren - always a strong program haven’t heard much about them as usual.

Unioto - nice wins over Logan and Huntington. Tonight’s match-up with Fairfield Union will tell us how Unioto stacks up in this division

Vinton County- Improving, good coaching. Could be a thorn in a higher seed come tourney time.

Athens
River valley
Chillicothe

North District:
Fairfield Union- plays a very tough schedule, will be ready for tournaments regardless of record

Sheridan - like Warren mentioned above. Will they be at the Circleville Tourney this year?

Circleville- solid as usual, will be in the mix

Logan Elm- looks to have bounced back from last years sub 500 season. New pitcher?

Miami Trace
McClain
Washington Court House
Hillsboro

pretty good look at the Dist Xtoxx

I have never understood why SE doesn't go to one big District and allow seeds to go where they want on the brackets. All Districts should seed and draw the same way and it doesn't happen. Since all Districts are competing for the same prize shouldn't it be the same format statewide??

Warren got beat by Jackson 9-0

SVC only had 3 legitimate teams this year.

So I favor a non SVC team to get out of district only because Unioto does not play anyone to prepare them for tournaments, except Westfall or Huntington, which are D3 I think.

Unioto beat Logan D1 team and WashingtonbCH D2 team however.

ZT beat Piketon and Chillicothe beat ZT. (1 game)

Going to watch Waverly this week.

Miami Trace is 4-0
Nice win over a usually strong Minford program.

Move them into the Norths contenders column

Unioto plays Miami Trace and Logan Elm Sheridan plays there as well if I’m correct Sheridan plays Logan Elm and Miami Trace
Also westfall is there Circleville, Warren and John Glenn
Great day for softball

Sheridan is the team to beat.

WF seems to be not as good as WF teams in the past.

MT beat Unioto by 5 but lost to good Sheridan team by 1. MT is decent.

Logan Elm looked like they had a bad weekend.

John Glen and Warren looked down from teams in the past also.

Unioto seemed to pull out of their 2 losses streak to beat Logan Elm. No Homers for LE.

Would like to have seen WF and Sheridan play yesterday.

Circleville looked solid as always.

Be careful about drawing conclusions too early. No one saw Fairfield Union making the run to the state tournament last year and when Circleville finished state runner-up back in 2006, they finished like fourth or fifth in the MSL. It's about who is playing their best entering the tournament and not on April 13.

I'll agree with you that Sheridan has a very nice team, although only being able to beat Miami Trace 2-1 in extra innings is a little concerning. I know Sheridan was throwing its No. 2, but still...

Not a big deal, but MT beat Unioto 6-4, not 8-3.

Good bounce back by Unioto to beat LE after a couple of tough losses in a row.

Unioto did a nice job of taking advantage of a lackluster performance from LE after getting bashed by Sheridan.

My thoughts on what I saw

Miami Trace was very well rounded team that will be a tough out in May

Sheridan is pretty good with very solid pitching

Circleville is a team you better not take lightly in May. Looked very good saturday

Logan Elm looked bad on saturday but like hotdog said it's not May yet

John Glenn looked weak on saturday, but know they have been good in past

Westfall- didn't see much of them but know they will always put a quality, well coached team

Unioto - didn't see enough to make much of a statement

Great Weekend and Well run tourny by Circleville, Coach Truex and Staff!!

I yield the floor,
Dani is right 6-4

Westfall has been mentioned on this thread a few times.
Just to clarify they are D3 this year and will play their District tournament on the palatial paradise fields of Frenchtowne, probably on field A.
