As far as I've heard only 1 so far. And, he's not from Wellston.

Re: 2019 Wellston Coaching Search
Coach Smith will do a good job-nice hire. I would say the one he has as an assistant will also do a good job.
Just a question about the current football field and stadium. When did Wellston start playing football at the current field or location? Just wonder since my Dad went to Wellston High School up until his senior year when Grandpa got transferred to Jeffersonville on the DT&I.

I would assume Wellston has played at CH Jones field since it was built sometime around the early 30’s.MTSWNGRVSG wrote: ↑Wed Mar 27, 2019 12:28 pm Coach Smith will do a good job-nice hire. I would say the one he has as an assistant will also do a good job.

Post above is correct. Wellston has played at CH Jones field since the stadium was built in the 30's, I would even go as far to say that with all the new stadiums going up that this has to be one of the oldest remaining that is in full time use across the state of Ohio. (Not sure if the old stadium in Portsmouth is still used?) Hearing rumblings of some BIG changes that could POSSIBLY happen but nothing for sure.MTSWNGRVSG wrote: ↑Wed Mar 27, 2019 12:28 pm Coach Smith will do a good job-nice hire. Heard he had couple but not sure of the names. It's getting a little late not to have a staff yet

What is it the guy says at the end of RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK?
"We have top men working on it right now.
Top. Men."

Is that a bad thing?madpolecat wrote: ↑Thu Apr 25, 2019 1:02 pm Definitely a Gallia County native flavor to the mix. LOL
Re: 2019 Wellston Coaching Search
Everything that has been said concerning Coach Smith has been very positive. The Rockets have positioned themselves to become a winning program. The next step is for parents, players and the school district to move forward in a positive attitude.

The coach from the Jackson County patriots and Coach Smith's son are two of them.
