Road to the OVC goes threw RH. They have 7 returning starters with 3 of their top 4 Pitchers back. Faro is probly best pitcher in the league but 1 player doesn’t win the league. JMO

Portsmouth off to a 0-2 start. Not in Ovc play and have a lot of work to do. They have clay Saturday at home. We beat them pretty bad last year but if we don’t get it together this game will be close or a loss.

Got my password fixed so I’ll comment on the Trojans. They got better last year. But losing their top 3 pitchers, (4 counting injury) along with a multiple other starters, is a tough task for any team.
Should know more in coming weeks, but fact is they are very, very young.
But l did see where multiple players that left the program in the past have come back to play this year. But only time will tell their impact. Either way, it’s good to see kids wanting to play.
There’s been definite culture change in the baseball program. Most players putting in work in the offseason. I heard first hand that many player have been in the weight room since Nov. And many lifting in season. That’s something I’ve never seen in the baseball program. Change the culture first and talent will develop. That was and is probably the toughest task.

I watched the game the other night at the VA. I thought the Trojans battled against one of the better teams in SEO. I believe Trace won the FAC (DII) last year. That pitcher was legit. And if not for a few mistakes, Portsmouth is in that game late. I’ve also watched these kids grow up so I figured the avg age of the Trojans lineup. It’s 15.5 yrs old. If you expect wins and miracles, you’re kidding yourself. The program is being rebuilt from the ground up. You can keep posting about results but you’re doing nothing good. Enjoy the small steps

Faro is probably the best pitcher in the area. Really impressed he held a loaded Athens team to 1 run. Athens has went on to kill Alexander and Zane Trace scoring 27 runs in both games

Faro only threw the first and was taken out. Zane Loveday and lefty freshman threw 6 innings for 10k to get the win over Athens.

Gallia Academy has impressed me thus far. Faro is by far the best pitcher in the league, but the guy who will be filling his shoes in the upcoming years has had a great start to this season. Zane Loveday gives Gallia another lefty to really have a chance at running the table in the league.

Looks like Portsmouth is starting to turn the corner. A win over Notre Dame got it all started. They followed that up with a loss at Coal Grove but was in the game up till the very end. Then a win against Chesapeake. Things are looking up. I cannot wait to see how these kids develop over the remainder of the season and the next few years. Things are looking bright for the future.
